Jason Pierre-Paul To Have Hand Re-examined

Jason Pierre-Paul To Have Hand Re-examined.

Multiple reports are now saying that Jason Pierre-Paul Will return to the Giants to assess the status of his injured hand. No official timetable has been given but, rumors have him returning around Tuesday.

JPP has yet to play this season after his Fourth of July fireworks incident where he severely injured his hand. Ralph Vacchiano from the New York Daily News writes that team doctors will re-assess him before any moves or determination is made.

The injured defensive end, who has been out of football since nearly blowing off his hand in a fireworks accident on July 4, is planning to travel to New Jersey on Tuesday where he is expected to be re-examined by the Giants doctors, a source familiar with the situation confirmed. But there are some in the organization, according to another team source, who doubt JPP’s hand has healed enough for him to be cleared to return to the field.

That doubt, the source said, is based on the fact that when JPP was first examined by team doctors on Sept. 7 – just six days before the Giants’ season opener – the damage was worse than the team was expecting. Based on that exam, some in the organization didn’t believe JPP would be able to play this season at all.

The Giants pass rush has improved since the start of the season, but, a healthy JPP would be a needed addition. The better question is will we ever see a healthy JPP?
