This game marked the team’s 10th consecutive defeat, leaving fans frustrated and disheartened.

Drew Lock was expected to be the answer at quarterback. Once heralded as a potential franchise starter, his performance has been anything but promising. Lock’s struggles have been glaring, with little resemblance to the quarterback who led a game-winning drive for the Seahawks in 2023.

Offensive Woes Continue

The Giants’ running game has faltered, and injuries to the offensive line have worsened the situation. While rookie Tyrone Tracy has shown flashes of talent, he’s not the game-changer Saquon Barkley once was. Tracy’s efforts alone cannot compensate for poor blocking upfront.

Despite the overall struggles, Malik Nabers has been a rare bright spot. With 97 receptions, Nabers now holds the Giants’ rookie record. He is just eight catches shy of Puka Nacua’s all-time rookie mark of 105, set in 2023. Additionally, Nabers is only 31 yards away from becoming the first Giants receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2018.

Defensive Breakdown

The defense provided no answers for Bijan Robinson and the Falcons’ rushing attack. The once-dominant pass rush failed to record a single sack of Michael Penix Jr. The rookie quarterback looked composed in his debut, raising questions about whether the Giants erred in drafting Nabers over Penix. While it’s too soon to determine, Penix’s performance showed promise, despite an interception caused by a dropped pass.

Looking Ahead

The Giants’ final home game of the season is against the Indianapolis Colts. Sitting at 0-8 at home, the possibility of a winless home record looms large. For a franchise steeped in history, this season has been a new level of embarrassment.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. The player synonymous with #80 introduced himself to the world wearing #3 during the first week of 2010’s preseason, torching our cross-stadium rival for 3 scores long before he had claimed the Salsa as his own personal touchdown dance. Rex Ryan was left wondering who #3 was, befuddled smile upon his face.

Week 16 of 2011.

The 7-7 Giants are trailing Rex’s Jets 7-3 with 2:27 left in the first half. 3rd and 11 from our own end zone. Manning stands in the gun, and fires to Cruz on a 10-yard out. A jump cut leaves Antonio Cromartie holding his jock in disbelief while #80 scampers 99-yards, giving the Giants a 10-7 lead, and catapulting us on a six game winning streak that would result in our second Super Bowl triumph in 4 seasons.

Who was the first player to greet Cruz with a celebratory smack of the helmet? Ahmad Bradshaw. The last game changing running back the Giants rostered. A dynamic runner who was a similar threat catching passes out of the backfield. Perhaps Bradshaw was recalling his own 88-yard touchdown in Week 16 of 2007. The Gmen ran for 289 yards in the snow that day; Bradshaw with 181, and Jacobs contributing 143 of his own. The result that season? 19-1, and the first of those two Super Bowl titles.

Jacobs and Bradshaw.

Jacobs and Bradshaw were both special. Jacobs was the power. A bruising, 6’4” 265 lb. force who thoroughly enjoyed delivering punishment to any defender who dared to try to bring him down. “Earth” as he would become known, was the tone setter. Weakened defenses stood no chance when blitzed by Bradshaw’s speed.

Most importantly, the duo could finish what they started. Whether punching the ball into the end zone with an authoritative jump-spike from Bradshaw, or Jacobs picking up a tough 4th and 1 on a Super Bowl winning drive, these boys could be counted on when the chips were down. The Giants had a running game to lean on when it mattered most, opening up play-action passing for Eli and Company.

The offensive line provided.

A competent offensive line provided the backbone for this reality. Men name Diehl, O’Hara, and Snee were strong, tough, imposing, and united as they created space to operate. Opposing defenses had multiple facets to worry about within the Giants’ offensive game plan. Twas the best of times…

The buzz around the Giants this offseason has been around the receivers. Some have floated the idea that we might have the “best” WR corps in the league, whatever that means. Victor Cruz made his triumphant return Saturday night, against (you guessed it) The New York Jets.

The victory that night is that he appears to have finished a game against live competition without getting injured. Tony Romo’s jealousy knows no bounds. Cruz had one catch for four yards, a baby step in a marathon of a season. Sterling Shepard’s future burns bright, but he’s still just a rookie with limited experience and an unproven skill set.

What we need now.

The Giants need more than a passing game. We need production from the backfield. Are the playmakers present? Rashad Jennings showed flashes last season, the most memorable being a swing pass, a stiff-arm and a 50+ yard jaunt to pay dirt against the Bills. Ultimately he was lost in a 4-man Running back By Committee that wouldn’t have existed had one back inspired Coughlin’s confidence.

Shane Vereen is versatile, with outstanding shiftiness and route running. 3-down back? Not likely. Andre Williams appears to be practice squad fodder with a propensity for coughing up the rock. Bobby Rainey’s most successful career exploits are centered around kick returning, although he does have the longest run of our preseason, a 67-yard explosion against Buffalo.

The answer may be 5th round pick Paul Perkins out of UCLA. His 5’10” 208 lb frame is a mirror image of Bradshaw’s. We all hope he can gallop like Bradshaw through the hole, and breakaway from defenders with game-changing acceleration.

Unfortunately, if Saturday’s performance is an indication, all the talent in the world may be stunted by a putrid offensive line. Failure to seize the point of attack, a lack of toughness, and an undeniable inability to improve on an annual, much less weekly basis is staring us directly in the eye. We cannot ignore the indictment that this has become upon Jerry Reese and our coaching staff. Ernie Accorsi built the previous incarnations of our line, while the current regime stubbornly refuses to allocate the proper resources needed to redefine ourselves in the trenches. Until our offensive line comes together, our offense will not have the opportunity to build confidence and discover their potential.

The hard truth is that the only proven playmakers on our whole offense are Eli Manning, and the gloriously indefensible OBJ. Buckle-up and enjoy the ride Giants fans, we will only go as far as their will takes us.

“Visions of Victor Cruz” was written by Guest blogger Justin Van Wyen Please Share this post & leave some feedback in the comment field below, I would love to know what you think.

The post Visions of Victor Cruz first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">6923</post-id>

Big Blue Sky Is Falling

Guest Blogger

New York Giants Daily Recap

Pre Season

Ryan Nassib

Big Blue Sky Is Falling. “The Big Blue Sky is Falling, the Big…

The post Big Blue Sky Is Falling first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Big Blue Sky Is Falling.

“The Big Blue Sky is Falling, the Big Blue Sky is Falling” –

New York Giants #1 Fan Group general opinions based on two preseason games. LMAO. Please just stop with the Nassib is horrible, the line is retched, blah blah blah and let’s be fans of the highest acumen. read below…

The following stats are to be used as medicine for your current state of delusion.

Giants Preseason Record in years we won Super Bowl.

2011 2-2

2007 1-3

1990 4-0

1986 3-1

We have Won the Super Bowl with almost all possible record combinations. Only a 0-4 record team hasn’t done it here, and this could be the year so please pour yourself a short glass of cognac and chill.

General League History

1. Only three 4-0 preseason teams have ever even made it to the Super Bowl.

2. The average preseason record for a Super Bowl Winner is 2.46-1.53 or 2-2 if you are a rounder upper such as myself.

3. Here are the 21 most recent Super bowl Winners preseason records.

9 teams were 2-2

7 teams were 3-1

5 teams were 1-3

In the history of league only one team went 0-4 in preseason and won Super Bowl. That was the 92′ Chargers.

Now you think you know football, I get it. But, history dictates that the preseason is a total crap shoot. Like judging a car that is on the assembly line. You have NOT test driven it, we have NOT established a value for the product, you have NO idea what machine will look like simply by staring at it’s parts as they come down the assembly line to be built.

This team is going to be special. The worse the loss the easier to coach, cut, promote, downgrade and refine the players. Halls’ career numbers are, 26 interceptions, including three for touchdowns, 111 passes defended, and 365 tackles in his career – all with Cincy.

Deep Thought:

Great move by Reese to provide veteran experience in the slot to team with Jenkins and DRC. If Hall can stay healthy, the Giants secondary just got a whole lot more serious, and that pass rush a whole lot scarier.

Polished Sterling Silver:

Something’s are just meant to be pondered forever. The meaning of life, death, a woman’s bipolar tendencies. All mysteries that men will ponder until the end of days. Well add another question to the list. How the hell did Sterling Shepard drop to the 2nd round? I will never comprehend how this happened.

Deep Thought:

They are raving about this kid so far in camp. Polished routes, stellar hands and a real student of the game. Jerry Reese, who has been ridiculed in the past for a lot of draft choices, will be lauded for picking this kid sooner rather than later.

We Talking ‘Bout Practice?:

Where in the world is Allen Iverson when you need him? How I wish I can just post that moment from Iverson’s now infamous press conference when I see a fellow Giants fans posting shit about Josh Norman getting torched by his teammates, WR’s Desean Jackson and Pierre Garson. Or how about all the G-Men fans laughing at Dez Bryant of the Cowboys, dropping multiple passes at practice.

Deep Thought:

Shhhhhhh. Now is that shit funny? Hell yeah it is. Hysterical, even. But let’s focus a little and use our Big Blue brains. It’s practice. No matter how you feel about Norman or Dez, denying their talent is admitting your lack of knowledge about the game of football itself. Is Norman a pure man to man corner? No. He is dependent on a scheme to bring out his talents. Talents that are not going to be on display in one on ones in August. Same with Dez. We have seen him too many times make plays under the lights, when the games count. These two are competitors, and no matter how bad they look in August, we will get their best in September.

Stupid Simms:

New York Giants legend Phil Simms has a son Chris, who has lost his damn mind.

Deep Thought:

Did Chris Simms really say Tom Brady, who just turned 39, is not a top five QB? What the fuck games is this cat watching? And I can’t get a gig with Bleacher Report? Listen, my man crush on Tommy is well-documented. I am a tad bias, but I am always a tad bias when it comes to defending great players, for any team. I mean if Brady isn’t a top five QB who the hell is? I’m not delusional, at 39 the window for Brady is closing, but besides Aaron Rodgers, who the hell else would you want leading your squad. To deny Brady’s greatness, no matter his age or your personal opinion of the man, is asinine. I fully expect a pissed off Tommy to serve his suspension, come back like a bat out of hell, win the division and flirt with another chance at a Super Bowl. Sorry Chris next time pass the dutchie to the left hand side.

Sweet, Sweet Fantasy Baby:

With the return of the NFL, comes the return of OUR leagues as well. It is time for fantasy football. Get your draft boards ready. Start writing new material to destroy your friends on the league page. Get the ball rolling on draft day trade rapes, keepers and all out torture for the sorry douche that finishes last. Most wonderful time of the year! Deep Thought: There will be another article for sleepers, predictions etc…for now I will give ya inside look at my draft board. Top 10 players on my board, for PPR or Non-PPR. No QB’s make the list.

1. Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers.

2. Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings.

3. Todd Gurley, RB, Rams.

4. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons.

5. Le’veon Bell, RB, Steelers.

6. Odell Beckham Jr., WR, Giants.

7. Ezekiel Elliot, RB, Cowboys.

8. David Johnson, RB, Cardinals.

9. Doug Martin, RB, Buccaneers.

10. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Texans.

Til another day peeps….Keep on keeping on.

The post Sterling Shepard, Leon Hall, & Other Loose Ends first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">6717</post-id>

Andre Williams looks to break out

Marco Ceo

New York Giants Daily Recap

New York Giants News

Andre Williams

Ben McAdoo

Headline

Andre Williams looks to break out. Nice touch!

“I wanted to thank all the people who have had an impact on my career and helped me get to this incredible milestone. To recognize their love and support, I’m giving each a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label— just like I did for my team after winning Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. I wouldn’t be here today without all of them by my side and wouldn’t have been able to experience and accomplish 2 Super Bowl Championships, 510 Tackles and 66.5 Sacks without them. I am honored and humbled to retire with the team I started with and am raising a glass of Johnnie Walker Blue Label to these outstanding individuals.
