Known as “Little Mo,” Modzelewski played defensive tackle for the New York Giants from 1956 to 1963. During that time, he anchored one of the most dominant defenses the franchise has ever seen.

In his first season with the Giants, Modzelewski helped the team defeat the Chicago Bears to win the 1956 NFL Championship. Over the next seven seasons, he played in five more title games (1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, and 1963), solidifying his place as a consistent and reliable force on the defensive line.

Never Missed a Game.

Modzelewski’s toughness was legendary. He entered the league in 1953 with Washington when the NFL season was just 12 games long. By 1961, it had expanded to 14 games. Through it all, Modzelewski never missed a single game. He played in all 180 regular-season games and eight championship matchups.

His reliability and grit made him a respected figure in every locker room he entered. After short stints with Washington, Pittsburgh, and a brief (very brief!) moment with Detroit, he found his home with the Giants.

A Hall of Fame Career On and Off the Field.

Before his pro career, Modzelewski was an All-American at the University of Maryland and won the prestigious Outland Trophy in 1952. He was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 and the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.

Following his playing days, he spent 22 seasons as an NFL coach. In 1978, he returned to the Giants as their defensive coordinator.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Through every high and low, Giants fans stand strong. With a new season on the horizon, there’s no better time to gear up. Burt, a key member of the Giants’ famous 1986 defense, was known for his strength and determination.

A Key Piece of the Giants’ 1986 Defense.

The 1986 Giants’ defense, which was pivotal in their first Super Bowl win, was anchored by Jim Burt. Playing alongside Hall of Famers like Lawrence Taylor and Harry Carson, Burt’s role as nose tackle helped limit opponents to just 80.3 rushing yards per game.

This defense dominated the NFL, forcing teams to pass the ball—only to face relentless pressure from Lawrence Taylor and Carl Banks. Taylor, in particular, led the league with 20.5 sacks and earned MVP honors. Jim Burt’s presence in the middle of the defense made a lasting impact on the franchise.

The Iconic Gatorade Shower.

Jim Burt is also credited with starting the famous Gatorade shower tradition. During the 1985 season, Burt and Carson decided to drench Coach Bill Parcells after a big win. Although unnoticed at the time, the tradition gained momentum during the 1986 season as the Giants kept winning. The showers became an iconic celebration, forever linked to the Giants’ success.

Burt’s legacy with the Giants will always be remembered for his toughness, leadership, and contributions to their 1986 championship.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. His impressive career earned him this recognition, cementing his legacy within the franchise.

From Walk-On to Super Bowl Champion.

O’Hara’s football journey began humbly as a walk-on tight end at Rutgers University. His hard work transformed him into a team captain and All-Big East tackle. After going undrafted, he made the Cleveland Browns’ roster and even scored a touchdown as a tackle-eligible in 2001. In 2004, he joined the New York Giants, alongside Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning.

Leading the Giants to Super Bowl Glory.

O’Hara became one of the five captains of the 2007 Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII. His leadership and resilience made him a key figure on the offensive line. He was also one of three Giants centers selected to three Pro Bowls, joining Ray Wietecha and Bart Oates.

A True Leader On and Off the Field.

Beyond football, O’Hara was beloved for his upbeat personality and his relationships with teammates and reporters. When he retired in 2010, he reflected on the support of his coach, Tom Coughlin, and Ronnie Barnes, who introduced him to his wife, Amy. Coughlin praised O’Hara, calling him a “bright and tough leader” who pushed through challenges throughout his career.

Shawn O’Hara’s contributions on and off the field leave an unforgettable mark on the New York Giants.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. That season, the defense gave up just 20 points, helping the Giants win their first NFL title. He earned All-NFL honors six straight years (1928–1933) and was later enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963.

A Game-Changer for Defensive Play.

According to Steve Owen, Hubbard revolutionized defense by inventing the roving linebacker role. This honor reflects Hamilton’s lasting legacy with the team, where he played a pivotal role in the Giants’ defense during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Hamilton’s Giants Career Began in 1992.

Drafted in the fourth round in 1992, Hamilton joined the Giants at a time of transition. The team was retooling after its Super Bowl victories in 1986 and 1990. Hamilton became a key figure on defense, helping to carry on the Giants’ reputation for defensive excellence.

In his 12-year career, Hamilton played 173 games, tying him with Hall of Famer Harry Carson for the 10th most in franchise history. His 63 sacks rank fifth on the Giants’ all-time list.

The 2000 NFC Championship Run.

One of Hamilton’s finest moments came during the Giants’ 2000 season. The team finished with a 12-4 record, clinching the NFC East and securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Hamilton was a critical part of the defense that dominated the NFC Championship Game, where the Giants defeated the Vikings 41-0 to earn a trip to Super Bowl XXXV.

That season, Hamilton recorded 10 sacks, leading the team in this category and solidifying his place among the Giants’ greatest defenders.

Hamilton’s contribution to the Giants extended far beyond stats. He embodied the team’s grit and defensive tradition. As he said, “I left everything I had out there on the field.”

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral.
