The New York Giants continue to honor their rich history by recognizing linebacker Antonio Pierce. He was recently named the 71st best player in Giants’ history, a testament to his impact on the team. Pierce, a free-agent signing in 2005, became the heart of the Giants’ defense.

Pierce was known for his intelligence and leadership on the field. Teammates praised him for reading plays before they even happened. Former guard Rich Seubert described him as “the guy who knew the play before the ball was snapped.”

Antonio Pierce’s Memorable Moments.

Antonio led the Giants in tackles three times, was a Pro Bowler in 2006, and was a key captain of the 2007 Super Bowl-winning team. One of his most impactful moments came in the 2007 season, during a critical goal-line stand against Washington. That moment shifted the momentum of the season, leading to the Giants’ eventual Super Bowl XLII victory.

Pierce’s leadership, football IQ, and toughness left a lasting legacy with the Giants.

There were lots of storylines heading into the game as the Raiders were playing their first game under interim head coach Antonio Pierce and offensive coordinator Bo Hardegree and were starting a rookie (Aidan O’Connell) at quarterback.

The Giants finally had quarterback Daniel Jones under center again and had left tackle Andrew Thomas in the lineup for the first time since Week 1.

That did not last for very long, however. Jones injured his knee in the first quarter, leaving the Giants’ offense to sputter through another frustrating game.

By halftime, it was 24-0 and the rout was on.

The Giants fall to 2-7 on this forgettable season, which has officially reached ‘circling the drain’ status. The Giants did very few things right in this game and were outmatched and outclassed by a very average Raiders team under a makeshift coaching staff.

The Raiders have hired former Arizona State defensive coordinator, and New York Giants legend Antonio Pierce as their linebackers coach, per Mike Garafolo.

The #Raiders have reached agreement with Antonio Pierce as their linebackers coach, sources say. The former #Giants Pro Bowl LB is back in the NFL on the coaching level after spending the last few years as a defensive assistant with Arizona State.

Pierce interviewed with the #Giants a few years ago when Patrick Graham came aboard as Joe Judge’s defensive coordinator. Didn’t come together at the time but now Pierce will be working alongside Graham in Vegas.

It is believed that Freddie Roach has agreed to stay at Ole Miss, after a promotion to assistant head coach. Roach was originally thought to be coaching the Giants Defensive Line. Giants fans are hopeful to see familiar names in Antonio Pierce or Pepper Johnson added to the coaching staff now that Roach is out.

We reached out to Pepper Johnson, he told us “No calls yet“. Hopefully they will come.

Antonio Pierce knows a thing or two about crushing opponents. The bruising middle linebacker racked up 530 tackles and 156 assists during his exemplary nine-year NFL career, and his timely touchdown-saving tackle on Brandon Jackson helped pave the way for the New York Giants’ third Super Bowl championship in 2008.

He’s bringing that same take-no-prisoners mentality to Out Pick A Pro, a new contest being run by SportsBettingDime. Every week, Pierce picks six NFL games against the spread.

Surprisingly, Pierce picked against the Giants in Week 6, and immediately regretted it after New York beat the Broncos on the road. He came back to his senses and took the G-Men to cover the spread against the Seahawks in Week 7.
