What stings is how familiar this script feels. Once again, the Giants were competitive. Once again, they held a fourth quarter lead. And once again, the defense could not close it out. For a team that has spent the entire year inventing new ways to lose, this one fits right in with the rest of the 2025 season.

Kafka Steps Up, But One Move Still Needs To Happen

Shane Bowen’s Defense Is Fully To Blame

Mike Kafka made some bold calls in his first week as the interim head coach. The offense had life. The team played with energy. But there is one move he still needs to make. It is time to fire Shane Bowen as the defensive coordinator.

The Giants blew yet another fourth quarter lead. Brian Daboll is not here to take the heat anymore. This one is all on Bowen. His defense has failed in every key moment this year. At this point, the only real fix is change at the top. Let Andre Patterson or Marquand Manuel take over the unit for the rest of the season. Kafka needs to make that decision this week.

The Wide Receiver Situation Is A Mess

Jalin Hyatt Continues To Disappoint

I have no idea how the Giants ever talked themselves into Jalin Hyatt. He is just not a good football player right now. The team traded up for him in the third round and has gotten almost nothing in return. And the crazy part is this could have been avoided. Joe Schoen should have swallowed his pride and moved him back in August. Instead, the Giants are stuck with a receiver who cannot produce and cannot be trusted.

Isaiah Hodgins Makes An Immediate Impact

On the flip side, Isaiah Hodgins walked back into the building and outproduced the entire wide receiver room in less than a week. Hodgins should have been signed the day after Malik Nabers went down. He is dependable, he understands the system, and he gives the quarterback a reliable option. It makes you wonder why this move took so long.

Cornerback Help Is Needed Right Now

The Giants absolutely need to bring in free agent cornerbacks for workouts this week. Injuries are piling up, depth is thin, and it is easy to see how opponents continue to pick on the secondary late in games. There is no way they can finish the season with this current group and expect different results.

Jameis Winston Is Exactly Who He Has Always Been

Jameis Winston played like the player we all know. Competitive, aggressive, willing to take chances, and fully capable of throwing touchdowns and interceptions in the same game. Some of his throws easily could have been picked off. He was lucky to finish with only one interception.

But Winston also gave the Giants a real chance to win. When the game is tight, he will always swing. Sometimes it works. Today it did not.

Big Moments From Key Players

Brian Burns Keeps Building His Case

Brian Burns picked up two more sacks and continues to build a serious case for Defensive Player of the Year. His production this season has been one of the few bright spots for this team.

Tyrone Tracy Continues To Impress

Tyrone Tracy put in a strong performance with 88 rushing yards and 139 total yards. He ran hard, fought for extra yards, and kept the offense moving. The Giants should also consider calling up Dante Turbo Miller to add even more juice to the run game.

A Season Full Of Missed Chances

The Giants were competitive but still found a new way to lose. That has been the theme of the entire 2025 season. Every time there is a chance to take control, something breaks down in the final minutes.

It really makes you wonder what this team’s record would look like if the defense had held just a few of these leads. They could easily be sitting in a much different spot right now.

Looking Ahead To Week 12

Mike Kafka will go for his first win as a head coach next week on the road against a strong Lions team. It will not be easy, but he gets another shot.

Draft pick watch continues. Head coach watch continues. And the 2025 season rolls on.

Rep The Team No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The move signals a full reset for a franchise that desperately needs new direction.

The New York Giants have officially decided to move on from head coach Brian Daboll after opening the season 2 8. The announcement came down Monday morning, and it signals the end of a tenure that once looked promising but never truly got back on track after the 2022 playoff run. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will take over as interim head coach for the rest of the year.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport first reported the move. By the time it became official, most fans were already expecting it. The season felt stuck in repeat mode, and the collapse in Chicago on Sunday only added to the frustration. Blowing a late 10 point lead to the Bears pushed emotions to the edge and brought this decision to the front door.

Daboll’s Tenure Never Recovered After 2022

Early Success Raised Expectations

Daboll arrived with energy, creativity, and the reputation of a coach who could bring stability to a franchise badly in need of it. His debut season supported that belief. The Giants went 9-7-1 and made the postseason, then stunned Minnesota on the road. It felt like the foundation of something real.

But that first year ended up being the high point. Over the next two and a half seasons, the wins slowed to a crawl. The Giants collected only 11 victories during that stretch. The spark faded, the offense stalled, and the team never found the consistency needed to take the next step.

Repeated Late Game Collapses

What made things worse was how predictable the losses became. Week after week, the Giants were in games, only for small mistakes and mental lapses to pile up at the worst possible times. Sunday’s loss to Chicago looked like a replay of earlier failures. A solid lead late in the game, followed by a complete shutdown in the final minutes. Four straight defeats and another road meltdown sealed Daboll’s fate.

Ownership acknowledged the disappointment directly. John Mara and Steve Tisch said the results were not acceptable, and they understood why fans have grown frustrated. They thanked Daboll for his time in New York, but it was clear they felt the franchise had hit a dead end.

Joe Schoen Will Lead the Next Chapter

One part of the announcement surprised fewer people. General manager Joe Schoen is staying in place and will run the head coaching search. Ownership doubled down on Schoen just last week, and Monday’s statement confirmed it once again.

This decision puts significant responsibility on Schoen’s shoulders. The next hire will shape the direction of the franchise for years. It will impact how Jaxson Dart develops, how the roster is built, and how quickly the team can climb out of this cycle. Schoen pushed for continuity, and now he has to deliver on it.

Why the Timing Made Sense

Daboll Entered 2025 With Very Little Margin

Daboll began this season firmly on the hot seat. The 3 14 finish in 2024, combined with the decision to move on from Daniel Jones, left ownership unsure if another year would bring change.

Going into 2025, the front office tried to give Daboll every possible chance to turn things around. The quarterback room was rebuilt with multiple directions to explore. Russell Wilson arrived. Jameis Winston arrived. And the Giants made the bold move to trade back into the first round to draft Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart. The message was clear. Daboll had options. It was on him to make it work.

The Results Were Too Hard to Ignore

Ten games in, the Giants looked like the same team from last year. Injuries, stalled drives, communication breakdowns, and defensive slip ups kept showing up. The Chicago loss did not create the problem. It confirmed that nothing was changing.

At 2 8, with a young quarterback waiting to be developed and a fan base running out of patience, ownership chose to hit the reset button now rather than dragging out the inevitable.

What Comes Next for the Giants

Mike Kafka will run the team the rest of the way. Schoen will begin the coaching search. And for the Giants, this becomes another turning point in a long stretch of uncertainty.

There is young talent in important positions, and the franchise needs leadership that can build something stable around it. The Daboll era started with hope but ended with the feeling that everything was stuck in neutral.

The Giants now have a chance to start fresh. The question is who will step in and take on the challenge.

Rep The Team No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The front office passed on adding draft picks.

The NFL trade deadline came and went, and the New York Giants made zero moves. Not one. For a team sitting at 2,7 after nine weeks, silence feels louder than any splash deal they could have made. Fans expected activity, even if it was not the blockbuster wide receiver move everyone dreams about. Instead, we saw a front office that chose to stand completely still.

No Additions and No Subtractions

Given how the season has played out, the Giants looked like a clear candidate to sell off a few struggling pieces. There were whispers around Russell Wilson. There were questions about whether Jaylin Hyatt, Evan Neal, or even Deonte Banks would be moved. None of it materialized. The Giants neither added talent nor cleaned up the roster, and that leaves plenty of frustration across Giants Nation.

The expectation was never that the team would chase a headline name. It was more about repositioning the roster, opening spots for younger players, and collecting future assets. Instead, the deadline passed quietly, and that lack of action raises real questions about the vision of this front office.

The One Piece That Truly Matters

The good news is the hardest piece of the puzzle is already solved. The Giants have their quarterback. Jaxson Dart is the real deal, and every week he continues to show why he was worth the investment. When you have your franchise quarterback, the future can still be bright. The next step is surrounding him with real talent, stability, and dependable playmakers.

Can This Regime Build Around Dart?

That is where the doubt creeps in. The Giants have been inconsistent when it comes to adding and developing offensive talent. The misses are starting to stack up, and patience is wearing thin. Dart deserves a roster that complements his skill set. Right now, he is carrying too much of the load. That should never be the case for a young quarterback.

The front office has decisions to make and a rising star they must protect at all costs. The opportunity is there, but trust in this regime is far from strong.

Rep The Team No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The New York Giants went from up 19-0 to giving up 33 points in the fourth quarter. That kind of collapse is unacceptable. Defensive coordinator Shane Bowen should be on the hot seat after this one. It’s now the second time this season the Giants had a lead late in the fourth quarter and still managed to lose. This one might sting the most because it felt like they finally had the game in hand.

Defensively, it was chaos. Missed tackles, blown assignments, and zero discipline in crunch time. That all falls back on Bowen’s defense. It doesn’t matter how much talent you have on the field if you can’t execute when it counts.

Jaxson Dart Deserved Better

We should have been talking about Jaxson Dart’s breakout moment — a four-touchdown performance that should have included a game-winner with under a minute left. Instead, we’re left shaking our heads after the defense gave the game away. Dart continues to show flashes of being the future franchise quarterback. His arm talent, decision-making, and grit under pressure have all been impressive.

If the defense could simply close out a game, we’d be celebrating Dart’s leadership and poise instead of reliving another painful loss.

Cam Skattebo Keeps Impressing

Rookie running back Cam Skattebo continues to shine. He finished with nearly 100 total yards of offense — 60 on the ground and 34 through the air — plus a touchdown catch. Skattebo runs angry and brings the kind of energy that lifts the entire offense. Each week, he’s proving that his physicality and versatility make him a key piece for the future.

Tight Ends Step Up Big

Without a true No. 1 wide receiver, the Giants leaned heavily on their tight ends, and it paid off. Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger combined for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Bellinger looked like the player we saw back in 2022 before his injury — a steady target who can move the chains and make clutch catches.

That production from the tight ends kept the offense balanced and gave Dart the outlets he needed against a tough Denver defense.

Defensive Bright Spots

Not everything on defense was awful. Brian Burns continues his monster season with two more sacks, bringing his total to nine. He’s been everything the Giants hoped for when they traded for him. Dane Belton also filled in nicely for Jevon Holland and played with solid awareness in coverage.

But that’s where the good news ends. Deonte Banks has struggled all year, and at this point, it might be time to explore a trade. The tackling overall was atrocious, and that kind of sloppy play is what fuels these fourth-quarter collapses.

Kicking Woes Continue

Jude McAtamney’s inconsistency has become a real issue. You can’t have a kicker that leaves points on the board or shakes your confidence in crunch time. Whether it’s bringing in a proven veteran like Younghoe Koo or exploring other options, the Giants need to address this immediately.

Still Fighting, But Not Finishing

The Giants should have left Denver at 3-4. Realistically, if not for their defense collapsing late in two games, they could be sitting at 4-3. Instead, they’re now searching for answers and a way to rebound.

This loss feels worse than the Week 2 defeat to the Cowboys. It’s one thing to lose to a better team — it’s another to hand a game away after dominating for three quarters.

To their credit, the Giants are still fighting and playing meaningful football. That’s progress, even if it’s not the kind we want to see. Fans want wins, but there’s something to be said for a young team that refuses to quit.

Looking Ahead to Philadelphia

The Giants went from dominating the defending champions just 10 days ago to blowing a game they had in control. That kind of inconsistency is maddening. If there’s a silver lining, it’s that they get another shot at redemption next week against the Eagles.

They need to take this loss personally and come out swinging. Channel that frustration, fix the defensive mistakes, and make a statement. Otherwise, another late-game collapse could quickly send this season spiraling.

Final Thoughts

This one hurts — badly. The Giants had it. They played well enough to win but let it slip through their fingers. Now it’s about how they respond.

They have the talent. They have the quarterback. They just need to learn how to finish.

Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. But this one felt different. The Giants didn’t just win; they made a statement. Beating the defending NFC champs wasn’t about luck. It was about finally seeing the promise of this young roster come to life.

The 34–17 victory over the Eagles showed direction, confidence, and fight. For the first time in a while, the Giants looked like a team that believed in itself. You could feel it from the opening kickoff — there was energy, urgency, and attitude.

Jaxson Dart Is the Future

I’m convinced Jaxson Dart is the future franchise quarterback of the New York Giants. On Thursday night, he put together his best performance yet. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown and added 58 yards and another score on the ground.

Dart displayed everything you want to see — arm talent, mobility, and playmaking ability. That first-quarter touchdown run set the tone for the entire night. He broke containment, saw daylight, and took off. It wasn’t just athleticism; it was instinct and confidence rolled into one.

Still Taking Too Many Hits

My only concern? He’s taking too many hits. Dart’s toughness is impressive, but I don’t want to see that become a habit. Protecting him has to be priority number one. You can’t build a franchise if your quarterback is constantly picking himself off the turf. Still, it’s clear — the kid’s got “it.” He’s playing with poise and control that’s rare for a rookie.

Cam Skattebo Sets the Tone

Cam Skattebo continues to prove that he belongs in this league. The rookie running back carried the offense with 98 rushing yards and three touchdowns. His 5.2 yards per carry speak volumes about his consistency and drive.

A Spark the Giants Needed

Cam runs like every play might be his last, hard, fearless, and with purpose. He hits the hole, lowers his shoulder, and never backs down from contact. That kind of effort energizes the offense and sets a tone that the rest of the team follows. Since Saquon Barkley’s departure, this offense has been searching for a heartbeat. Cam might just be that pulse.

Playmakers Stepping Up

With multiple injuries at wide receiver, the Giants needed others to rise up, and they did. Wan’Dale Robinson led the charge with six catches for 84 yards and a touchdown, while Lil’Jordan Humphrey, who was on the practice squad last week added four receptions for 55 yards.

Both players made timely catches that kept drives alive. It wasn’t flashy, but it was effective. When you can count on your depth guys to perform, that’s when you know the locker room is buying in.

The Defense Found Its Groove But Has More to Give

The defense finally looked like the Giants defense we’ve all been waiting for. Brian Burns set the tone up front with two sacks and constant pressure. The unit played disciplined, kept everything in front of them, and made life uncomfortable for the Eagles’ offense all night.

Time to Turn the Dial Up

As well as they played, I still think they can reach another level. I want to see this defense take over games, not just manage them. They have the talent to dominate every week it’s time to crank the dial.

One thing that stood out? I didn’t hear Deonte Banks’ name all game. I don’t think he saw many snaps, and at this point, it feels like Cor’Dale Flott’s spot to lose. The rotation has changed, and it’s going to be something to watch heading into Denver.

Building on the Momentum

This win wasn’t just a victory it was a breath of fresh air. The Giants snapped a decade-long Thursday night drought and reminded fans that there’s still plenty to believe in.

You can feel a shift. The energy in the building, the belief in the locker room, and the confidence in the young talent all point toward a team finding its rhythm.

The Giants now head to Denver on October 19 with a chance to keep that momentum rolling. If Dart keeps developing, Cam keeps grinding, and the defense keeps tightening the screws, this could be the turning point fans have been waiting for.

Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart led two early touchdown drives, and for a moment, it felt like maybe this team had turned a corner.

Then it all fell apart.

New York couldn’t protect the ball or sustain momentum, falling 26–14 to the Saints in another loss that looked far too familiar. What started with promise ended with frustration, turnovers, and more questions about where this team is actually heading.

A Promising Start Goes Cold Fast

The Giants opened with tempo and purpose. Dart looked calm, the play-calling worked, and the first two drives ended in touchdowns. But once New Orleans adjusted, everything slowed down.

The final five possessions all ended in turnovers. Dart finished with 202 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The rookie showed flashes, but as the drops mounted, the offense completely lost rhythm.

And then there was Darius Slayton. Simply put, this was his worst performance to date. At a time when the Giants desperately needed a veteran to steady the offense, Slayton disappeared. The drops were costly, the fumble even worse. He’s not a WR1. He’s not a WR2. He’s a role player who’s been asked to carry more than he can handle. He seems like a great teammate and a likable guy, but the inconsistency is exhausting. Giants fans have seen this movie too many times.

Theo Johnson Steps Up When It Counts

Tight end Theo Johnson was one of the few bright spots. He caught both of Dart’s touchdown passes and played with real confidence throughout the game. I’ll admit, I’ve doubted him in the past — he’s had some tough drops in big spots — but this time he came through.

Johnson’s size and red-zone awareness give the Giants a legit weapon. He and Dart are developing chemistry that could pay off if they keep building on it. For once, he looked like someone who wanted the moment, not someone hoping it wouldn’t find him.

Skattebo Keeps Fighting

Cam Skattebo continues to be a heartbeat on offense. He finished with 59 rushing yards and 45 receiving, fighting for every yard. The rookie never stops moving forward, even when the blocking isn’t there. His toughness stands out every week, and honestly, he’s one of the few players who looks angry about losing.

He’s the kind of player this team should be building around — physical, relentless, and dependable.

The Defense Held Up, Until It Couldn’t

The defense started fine, but that’s not enough anymore. With Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux, this front should be dominating games. Instead, they go quiet for long stretches. The pressure isn’t consistent, and the Saints’ offense looked far too comfortable.

And Deonte Banks continues to be a problem. His penalties are keeping offensive drives alive week after week, often in the worst possible moments. The physicality is there, but the discipline isn’t. These are the kinds of plays that flip games, and it’s fair to question why he’s still in on critical downs when he’s struggling to stay composed.

Roster Management and Coaching Questions

IAt some point, this comes back to leadership. Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen built this roster, and while there’s young talent here, the wins just aren’t following.

Game-day roster management has been questionable more than once. Whether it’s the wrong players inactive, poor in-game adjustments, or uneven snap counts, something is off. I like both Daboll and Schoen, but it’s hard to keep defending the results. They haven’t shown they can turn this around, and it’s starting to feel like we’re nearing the end for both.

Looking Ahead to Philadelphia

The Giants don’t have time to sulk. The Philadelphia Eagles are up next on Thursday night, and right now, they’re the complete opposite of what New York has been — efficient, consistent, and confident.

If the Giants want to show they still have some fight left, it has to start with discipline. Protect the football, avoid the back-breaking mistakes, and play with urgency. If not, this could get ugly fast.

The talent is there. The execution isn’t. And that’s what separates the contenders from the teams that just keep finding new ways to lose.

Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The plan was patience, a year of watching and learning. Most believed throwing him into action too soon would hurt his growth and sink the Giants’ offense.

But Coach Brian Daboll had other ideas. He trusted his rookie quarterback enough to start him against the undefeated Chargers. With the Giants desperate for a spark, Dart was given the chance to lead. And he delivered.

The Game-Changing Performance

The Giants offense had looked flat in two of their three losses. Against Los Angeles, Dart gave it a pulse. He brought energy, toughness, and playmaking ability that made the team believe.

Yes, the defense deserves credit. The pass rush came alive with 20 pressures. Abdul Carter racked up five quarterback hits, and Brian Burns’ late sack closed the door. Still, it was Dart who changed the tone. He gave the Giants something they had not felt in weeks: life.

Toughness on Full Display

Dart took heavy punishment from a physical Chargers defense. He even tweaked his hamstring, but he never wavered. Each time he was hit, he got back up and kept fighting.

On the Giants’ opening drive, he ripped through the middle for a 15-yard touchdown run. The MetLife crowd erupted, louder than it had been in years. That moment set the tone for the night.

Key Plays in the Clutch

Dart showed he could handle pressure situations. In the fourth quarter, he connected with tight end Theo Johnson on a short pass to seal the win with a first down. Earlier, he found Johnson again on a shovel pass for a touchdown.

The Giants’ offense looked different. It was quicker, fresher, and more dynamic. Dart used short throws, designed runs, and kept the Chargers defense guessing. Receivers like Darius Slayton, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Johnson all stepped up to make plays.

The Bigger Picture

The night wasn’t without heartbreak. Malik Nabers went down with a serious injury, one that will cast a shadow on the rest of the season. Losing a player of his caliber hurts.

But what the Giants gained in this game cannot be overlooked. They may have found the quarterback of the future. Dart looks like the type of player a franchise can build around.

Final Thoughts

Everything you wanted to see in a first start was there. Dart’s toughness, his confidence, his ability to make plays when it mattered. Most importantly, his first start brought his first win — and the Giants’ first win of 2025.

Giants fans came to MetLife with questions and concerns. They left with hope. They left believing that Jackson Dart might just be the answer.

Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. For a moment, it looked like the Giants had finally pulled off a dramatic road win. Instead, the game ended as so many have in recent years — with another collapse.

Bad teams find ways to lose football games. That’s the reality facing the Giants right now. Since 2017, no team has a worse record. Now they sit at 0–2 for the tenth time in the last 13 seasons. What once looked like a turnaround under Brian Daboll has turned into frustration. Since starting 7–2 in his first year, the Giants are just 11–31–1.

A Moment of Hope

For most NFL teams, Russell Wilson’s late-game heroics would have been enough. With under half a minute to play, he connected with rookie sensation Malik Nabers for a miraculous touchdown. That put the Giants up 37–34 with 25 seconds left, a moment that should have sealed the win.

But the defense could not finish the job. Dak Prescott found tight end Jake Ferguson wide open over the middle for 18 yards. That single play put Dallas into long field goal range. Brandon Aubrey then drilled a 64-yarder as time expired, sending the game to overtime.

Overtime Breakdown

The Giants had all the momentum late in regulation, but they came out flat in overtime. The offense, which had been rolling in the fourth quarter, suddenly stalled. On their first possession, they punted.

Russell Wilson, who had been brilliant with 450 passing yards and three touchdowns, made his only critical mistake of the night. A miscommunication with Nabers led to an interception. The Cowboys quickly capitalized, with George Pickens making a big 27-yard grab to set up another Aubrey kick, this time from 46 yards, to win the game.

Costly Mistakes

It wasn’t just one play that doomed the Giants. Penalties were crushing. Fourteen flags for 160 yards gave the Cowboys too many chances. Add in defensive lapses, and it was a recipe for another loss.

Week one against Washington, it was the offense that sputtered. In week two, it was discipline and defense. Every week, something new seems to drag this team down.

What’s Next?

The Giants talked all offseason about how this year would be different. Yet two games in, it feels all too familiar. Another season is slipping away quickly, and the frustration is mounting. Unless something changes fast, this could be another long year for Big Blue.

Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The news was first reported by John Frascella and later confirmed by ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Davis has strong ties to the Giants’ front office. General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll were both with him during their time in Buffalo. That familiarity could help Davis find his footing again after a down year.

Last season in Jacksonville, Davis played in 10 games, totaling 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Still just 26 years old, he’s looking for a fresh start after struggling to find a consistent role with the Jaguars.

Giants Make Roster Changes at WR and CB.

To make room for new additions, the Giants waived two undrafted defensive backs: Tommy McCormick (Idaho) and RJ Delancy III (Wisconsin).

In their place, the team added wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey and cornerback T.J. Moore. These moves reflect the Giants’ continued effort to reshape the bottom of the roster ahead of training camp.

A Reunion With Daboll Could Spark Davis.

While Davis didn’t make much of an impact in Jacksonville, he was a key contributor for Buffalo in past seasons. His playoff performances with the Bills stood out, and his chemistry with Daboll could be a factor if he signs with New York.

The Giants are still sorting out their receiver depth behind Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton. Davis could offer size, experience, and a potential red zone boost if he makes the team.

Stay tuned for updates as the visit unfolds.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue.
