The Rumor received some validation from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. The belief is that The Redskins like Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, enough to move on from Dwayne Haskins.

It still seems out of reach for the New York Football Giants to land Young, as Detroit would love it if he fell to them with the 3rd pick in the draft.

Quote from Washington Head Coach Ron Rivera

“If you’re going to make a trade and you’re going to go back, that guy you’re going to take at that spot has to be able to make the kind of impact you need to validate missing an opportunity to take a player that’s a high-impact guy,” Rivera said, via NBC Sports Washington.

“In other words, if you’re going to pass up Player A and you go back and you’re going to take Player D, Player D has to be equal to Player A because if Player A is going to play for you for 10 years and Player D may not, then did you really get value or did you just get a whole bunch of picks? You’ve got to be able to sit there and say that the next guy that I’m going to take is going to be that high-impact guy, and that’s what I’m looking for. That’s what I believe we need is we need a guy that’s going to come in and really change our football team. To me, there’s a few guys on that board that are those kind of players.”

Finding pass rush In this draft.

It seems like the Giants are very interested in Isaiah Simmons, but also a trade down is in play. Will the Giants Trade down and draft a Tackle? Most likely they will draft the best player available. Less likely are Chase Young dropping, or a trade for Yannick Ngakoue. Keep you ears pealed for Zack Baun, Jonathan Greenard.

Draft Worries & Hackers.

The NFL announced that the draft will be conduced from outside of teams facilities with a limited number of people present, essentially via Skype or zoom war room. This bring up many questions, will Dave Gettleman remember his password? Will Bill Belichick hack the draft? Where are the computer folk?

Official NFL Statement.
“Because of the unique circumstances in our country today, the 2020 Draft will obviously need to be conducted in a different way. Already, we have cancelled all public events, we will not be bringing prospects and their families to the Draft, and the draft itself will be conducted and televised in a way that reflects current conditions. 

“Our staff is certainly mindful of the operational issues this presents, and our top priority is putting in place procedures that allow all clubs to operate on a level playing field so that the draft is conducted in a way that is competitively fair to all clubs. All clubs should now be doing the necessary planning to conduct draft operations in a location outside of your facility, with a limited number of people present, and with sufficient technology resources to allow you to communicate internally, with other clubs, and with draft headquarters.”

We need QB hungry teams, but I think teams my try to trade up to grab one. It’s a long shot but I think it’s a possibility.

Peter King on Washington passing on Chase Young vs trade down.
“I will tell you right now, I have somebody who is at the Senior Bowl who told me, flat out: the Washington Redskins could remake their franchise, this year, by dealing the second pick in the draft,” King said Tuesday on the Redskins Talk podcast.
