According to Ian Valentino of Pro Football Network, it was the selection of Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker in 2019.

In general, the New York Giants’ drafts have brought back either a solid player or a non-contributor over the last 22 years.

The worst two picks by the franchise were significant misses, even considering their track record. Baker played poorly as a rookie due to limited athleticism, had off-field issues, and then had a gruesome non-contact knee injury. He was the first player drafted in the top 64 released from his class.

The Giants’ 2012 first-rounder, David Wilson, ran for only 504 yards in two years with the team before injuries sunk his career. He was taken before Mitchell Schwartz, Janoris Jenkins, and Alshon Jeffrey.

The Giants traded back into the first round in 2019 to select Baker, the Jim Thorpe Award winner in 2018 as the nation’s top corner, giving Seattle three picks (37th, 132nd and 142nd) to do so.

Baker was a disaster from Day 1 and not only was he not long for the Giants, but they also lost out on several key mid-round draft picks as well. It was a complete lose-lose situation all the way around — on and off the field.

Wilson simply was a speedy home run hitter who was better suited for track and field than the NFL. He sustained a neck injury early on with the Giants and was forced to retire from football.

Dalvin Tomlinson Underappreciated Per Giants Wire.
NGS shows that Tomlinson earned 19 run stuffs — those are plays when a defender tackles an opposing rusher for a gain of zero or negative yards — in 2019, tied for third in the NFL. This helped the Giants’ defense allow the fourth-lowest rushing average (3.86 yards per attempt) despite allowing the eighth-most yards per game (377.3).

I hate that there are so many names in this category, but that’s the deal in the NFL right now. The virtual offseason will do these guys no favors and some of them are, frankly, in an untenable position with scant chance to succeed in the short term, stuck with rookie coaches and/or new systems and with precious little talent around them.

Let’s just say I don’t envy many of them. I think it’s fair to wonder about Darnold at this point and 2020 will obviously be huge for him. Jones gives the ball away far too freely. I think Burrow will be great … but it might take some time. Minshew remains very intriguing to me and I like him more than most from what I gather. He looks like a gamer to me.

This is not only false, says Patrick Patel — one of the lawyers for Baker — but it is deceitful, sparking an avalanche of accusations against Dunbar’s lawyer, Michael Grieco. Baker is going to immediately file a lawsuit against Grieco for libel and slander, making everybody believe that Baker is in that picture because his name is in the text.”

Per ESPN, DeAndre Baker enters a not guilty plea.
New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker pleaded not guilty to his eight charges related to an alleged armed robbery that police say took place last week in Miramar, Florida. This was the next step after both players were granted bail ($200,000 for Baker, $100,000 for Dunbar) on Sunday following a night in Broward Sheriff’s Office jail satisfying their arrest warrants from the alleged incident.

Yes, he will get rid of the ball quicker. Some of the fumbles were because he was trying to make something happen that wasn’t there.

I’m not sure what the giants will do. I’d Wait to see how things would unfold.

If Baker is cut who is CB #2? My money is on.
I like Darnay Homes, I’d give the rookie a shot.

If no Baker I’m thining of Ballentine or Beal on the outside Isn’t Darnay Holmes a slot CB?
Holmes is more of a slot CB, but played both at UCLA. Id give it a shot.

If it’s horrible then we have a new GM. A new GM might want to bring in his own guy.

How many touchdowns will Danny Dimes have in 2020?
I’ll go with 29.

Maybe I’m optimistic but I see 7 wins this year. Rebuilding yes, but there is talent there.
I don’t see it, especially in the climate we currently are in.

7-9 to 9-7 with Joe Judge really laying down the culture this season. Do you agree?

When I saw Dan Duggan wrote an article on The Athletic about OBJ I had to talk to him. No, not that OBJ. Get your mind out of the gutter. The new OBJ. OBJ 2.0. Oluwole Betiku Jr.

When I saw Dan Duggan wrote an article on The Athletic about OBJ I had to I fell in love with Betiku during my research for the draft and selected him in Rd 7 several times. Betiku went undrafted but was signed by the Giants as an UDFA.

Dan did an awesome job breaking down Betiku’s back story and tools he possesses that may make him actually stick around with a chance to produce in the future.

Dan broke down the article as well as provided some thoughts on Daniel Jones/Barkley in a contract year/Scheming a pass rush and if we will play in 2020.

Arrest warrants issued for NFL players DeAndre Baker, & Quinton Dunbar, after alleged armed robbery in Miramar, Florida. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 13. according to The Miramar Police Department.  

DeAndre Baker’s Lawyer Claims he Is innocent and issued the following statement via Instagram

“I want to thank @miramarpd for being professional in regards to surrendering and issues with the case. We understand that the officers can only base warrants on what was told to them at the time. We have had affidavits from several witnesses that also dispute the allegations and exculpate our client. Our investigator has had them for some time. We would have rather presented them to the court at the proper time, rather than in the media, but in this day and age, people rush to judgment. Where some seek publicity, we seek justice. I look forward to moving this case forward to proper conclusion, as we believe our client is innocent of any charges.”

Cohen also added the following comment early Saturday morning.

“We will be presenting the trove of evidence we have obtained over the past 3 days to the judge at the right time 7 affidav(i)ts exonerating my client and video evidence.”

The Miramar Police Department in Florida issued a warrant for the arrest of New York Giants CB DeAndre Baker, and Seattle Seahawks DB Quinton Dunbar on Thursday night. Baker is wanted for four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm for an incident that took place Wednesday, May 13th, 2020. Dunbar is wanted for four counts of armed robbery with a firearm. The New York Giants issued a statement saying they are aware of the situation and are in touch with Baker.

A warrant to arrest has been issued for Deandre Baker, of the Giants (four counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.) Quinton Dunbar of the Seahawks also has a warrant to arrest for four counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm. Charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 13, 2020 in Miramar.
