Here’s a closer look at the game and what it means moving forward.

Ending the Streaks

The Giants avoided a winless home season, finishing 1-8 at MetLife Stadium in 2024. This victory also snapped a painful 10-game losing streak, giving fans a rare moment of celebration this year.

Drew Lock’s Career Day

Drew Lock accounted for five touchdowns—four passing and one rushing. While his future with the Giants is uncertain, this performance could help him secure another job in the league next season.

Malik Nabers Shines Bright

Malik Nabers proved he wasn’t concerned about draft positioning. He delivered a stellar performance with seven catches, 171 yards, and two touchdowns. His potential with the Giants is undeniable.

Tyrone Tracy’s Milestone

Tyrone Tracy surpassed 1,000 all-purpose yards as a rookie. While he may not reach Saquon Barkley’s level, Tracy has shown flashes of becoming a reliable player, reminiscent of Ahmad Bradshaw.

Defensive Highlights

Kayvon Thibodeaux recorded a sack and forced fumble, finally making his presence felt.

Dru Phillips secured his first career interception, solidifying his status as the team’s best defensive back this season.

Looking Ahead

The Giants’ draft pick position remains in flux. This win likely pushes them out of the race for top prospects like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. Meanwhile, next week’s game against the Eagles adds intrigue. Will Philadelphia rest their starters or try to hurt the Giants’ draft position?

Also, keep an eye on Saquon Barkley as he faces his former team. Could he set the single-season rushing record?

Stay tuned as the Giants aim to finish the season strong.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. This game marked the team’s 10th consecutive defeat, leaving fans frustrated and disheartened.

Drew Lock was expected to be the answer at quarterback. Once heralded as a potential franchise starter, his performance has been anything but promising. Lock’s struggles have been glaring, with little resemblance to the quarterback who led a game-winning drive for the Seahawks in 2023.

Offensive Woes Continue

The Giants’ running game has faltered, and injuries to the offensive line have worsened the situation. While rookie Tyrone Tracy has shown flashes of talent, he’s not the game-changer Saquon Barkley once was. Tracy’s efforts alone cannot compensate for poor blocking upfront.

Despite the overall struggles, Malik Nabers has been a rare bright spot. With 97 receptions, Nabers now holds the Giants’ rookie record. He is just eight catches shy of Puka Nacua’s all-time rookie mark of 105, set in 2023. Additionally, Nabers is only 31 yards away from becoming the first Giants receiver to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2018.

Defensive Breakdown

The defense provided no answers for Bijan Robinson and the Falcons’ rushing attack. The once-dominant pass rush failed to record a single sack of Michael Penix Jr. The rookie quarterback looked composed in his debut, raising questions about whether the Giants erred in drafting Nabers over Penix. While it’s too soon to determine, Penix’s performance showed promise, despite an interception caused by a dropped pass.

Looking Ahead

The Giants’ final home game of the season is against the Indianapolis Colts. Sitting at 0-8 at home, the possibility of a winless home record looms large. For a franchise steeped in history, this season has been a new level of embarrassment.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. The disgust over how the season has played out made it difficult to revisit this game. However, as fans deserve a recap, here we are. We’ll also publish Sunday’s game against the Falcons later today, keeping the accountability going, even in tough times.

Malik Nabers Shines Despite the Loss

Malik Nabers managed a bright moment with his first touchdown since Week 3. Now sitting at 901 yards for the year, he’s just 99 yards shy of being the Giants’ first 1,000-yard receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2018. If not for missing time with a concussion, Nabers would already have hit that milestone.

The Quarterback Situation Remains Grim

Tim Boyle threw the Giants’ first touchdown pass since Week 9, ending a month-long drought. Neither Drew Lock nor Tommy DeVito managed a touchdown during that span. DeVito, once a source of magic in 2023, now looks like the undrafted free agent he is. Injuries to both DeVito and Lock leave Boyle as the likely starter. The Giants should focus on finding a backup off the street to finish the season.

A Defense Outmatched by Lamar Jackson

The Ravens’ offense toyed with the Giants’ defense. Lamar Jackson barely needed the run game, as Baltimore’s passing attack tore through a battered secondary. Dane Belton, filling in for Tyler Nubin, stood out with 15 tackles and a sack, but the defense overall looked overwhelmed.

Familiar Calls for Change

For the ninth straight week, fans flew a banner over MetLife calling for change. John Mara insists Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are safe, but history suggests he could change his mind. At 0-8 at home and on a nine-game losing streak, the Giants could finish winless at MetLife in 2024.

With three games left, the focus shifts to draft position. If the Raiders win another game, the Giants could lock in the No. 1 pick. As for Daniel Jones? He’s likely relieved to be watching this disaster unfold from the Minnesota sidelines.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. While quarterback play isn’t the sole can I have a few options , it’s one of the biggest. Drew Lock, once a candidate for QB1 in Week 1, couldn’t even secure a win against a lackluster Dallas team. Lock showed slightly better mobility than Tommy DeVito but still fell short. Lock led the team in rushing with 57 yards, highlighting the offensive woes.

The Giants’ offensive line is another glaring issue. Without Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor, the line crumbled. Earlier this season, the line was at least serviceable. Against Dallas, it was downright abysmal. The Cowboys’ defense dominated, exposing the line’s vulnerabilities.

Defensive Failures Persist.

Missed tackles remain a constant problem for the Giants. Rico Dowdle, a relatively unknown player, recorded his first career 100-yard rushing game. The Giants’ run defense simply couldn’t contain him. Meanwhile, the pass rush was nonexistent, failing to register a single sack or even touch Cooper Rush.

Special Teams Show No Spark.

Graham Gano converted two field goals and both extra points, but special teams’ contributions ended there. The Giants’ kick and punt return units offered no meaningful production, continuing a season-long trend.

A Grim Outlook.

The Giants’ Thanksgiving struggles are well-documented. They haven’t won a Thanksgiving game since 1982 and are now 0-3 against the Cowboys on the holiday. At AT&T Stadium, their losing streak stretches back to Week 1 of 2016, with an 0-8 record since then.

Looking ahead, John Mara’s frustration in the press box was palpable. Changes could be imminent, and Black Friday might signal firings. With five games left, the Giants’ chances of winning another game appear bleak. The race for the No. 1 overall pick is on, a spot the Giants haven’t held since 1965. Their total rushing yards added up to just 76, far below expectations, especially with former Giant Saquon Barkley dominating their defense.

Offensive Line Issues

The Giants’ offensive line held up decently for the first six weeks of the season. However, Andrew Thomas’ injury exposed major weaknesses. Joshua Ezeudu’s performance at left tackle was a significant problem, making it clear he isn’t the answer.

Daniel Jones and QB Concerns

Daniel Jones didn’t have much support, but he also struggled to respond to Philadelphia’s defense. His streak without a touchdown pass at MetLife Stadium continues—now four games into 2024 without a single passing touchdown at home. The streak stretches back to Week 17 of last season.

Drew Lock, who took snaps later, didn’t offer much of a spark. It’s unclear if Brian Daboll will start Lock next week against the Steelers. However, Lock’s uninspiring play gives little reason to believe he’s the solution.

Limited Impact from Malik Nabers

Malik Nabers was active but quiet. After a promising start to the season, he failed to register a catch in the second half, limiting his impact in a critical game.

Defensive Standouts and Setbacks

Dexter Lawrence continues to make his case for Defensive Player of the Year. Despite the team’s struggles, Lawrence has been dominant in 2024. The defense managed five sacks on Jalen Hurts, but the Eagles still racked up 269 rushing yards.

Saquon Barkley had a revenge game for the ages, torching the Giants with 176 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 187 all-purpose yards. The Giants couldn’t contain him throughout the game.

Special Teams and Outlook

Special teams didn’t have much to contribute. With only one field goal made by backup specialists, they couldn’t shift momentum.

At 2-5, the Giants are inching closer to another top draft pick. A win would’ve given them a glimmer of hope, but the lack of offensive production makes it hard to believe this team will turn things around in 2024.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. However, the pressure is building. Fans are already frustrated, as seen by the boos heard throughout the season opener.

Fans Divided Over Booing Daniel Jones.

Some fans feel it’s too early to boo Daniel Jones, while others are tired of waiting for results. The last time Jones threw a touchdown at MetLife Stadium was against the Colts in 2022. Many are eager to see him succeed but are losing patience.

Daboll Acknowledges Team’s Poor Start.

When asked about Jones’ confidence, Brian Daboll didn’t sugarcoat the situation. “We’ve played one game, no one did good enough that first game,” he said. This statement reflects the team’s poor start, with many players not performing up to par.

Jones’ Worrisome Stats Over the Last 8 Games.

Daniel Jones has struggled in his last eight NFL games, throwing 2 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and 3 pick-sixes. He’s also had 5 fumbles, adding to the team’s offensive woes.

Could Change Be Coming?

With Daniel Jones’ performance under the microscope, Coach Daboll is also feeling the heat. If the struggles continue, there could be a push to try other quarterbacks like Drew Lock or Tommy DeVito in the coming weeks.

The Giants need results, and fast. How long will the team and fans wait for a turnaround?

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. He failed to score and had two costly interceptions, including a pick-six. If Jones continues to struggle early this season, Coach Brian Daboll will have to bench him. The boos at MetLife were loud and relentless, beginning early in the game and following Jones as he left the stadium.

Giants Fans Want Change.

Jones’ poor performance, combined with Saquon Barkley’s strong debut for the Eagles, has fans frustrated. Some are even looking ahead to the 2025 draft class for a new quarterback.

Running Game Woes Without Barkley.

The Giants’ running game was virtually non-existent. Devin Singletary managed just 37 yards on 10 carries, while Daniel Jones added only 15 yards on six carries. Barkley’s absence is clearly felt in the run game, even if paying a 27-year-old running back wasn’t the best long-term move.

Nabers’ Solid Debut.

Malik Nabers had a decent NFL debut with five catches for 66 yards. Giants vs. Jets in the preseason finale kicks off at 7:30 PM at MetLife Stadium!

As per Jordan Raanan, most of the New York Giants starters will not play in today’s preseason finale against the Jets. According to Raanan’s sources, the coaching staff has decided to rest the majority of the first-string players in preparation for Week 1.

The Giants got their work in this week with a joint practice against the Jets. It was their second joint practices of the summer in addition to the starters playing in last week’s preseason game vs. Texans.

Jordan Raanan via Twitter / X

DeVito to Take the Lead in the Final Preseason Matchup

With the starters sitting out, the focus shifts to the rest of the roster. We speculated earlier that Tommy DeVito would take most of the snaps, with Drew Lock potentially serving as an emergency backup. This preseason finale offers a crucial opportunity for the backup players to make their case for a spot on the final 53-man roster.

Roster Spots Up for Grabs

Jordan Raanan’s report underscores the importance of tonight’s game for the players on the bubble. With the regular season just around the corner, this is the last chance for many to prove they belong on the roster. The coaching staff will be closely watching the back end of the roster to see who steps up and earns their place on the team.

By resting the starters, the Giants are prioritizing their health and readiness for the regular season kickoff. It also allows the coaching staff to evaluate the depth and talent they have as they prepare to finalize their roster.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. However, he has confirmed that the team won’t be adding any additional quarterbacks. Drew Lock, still recovering, remains an emergency option, just as he was last week.

Tommy DeVito’s Moment to Shine.

Given this scenario, it seems likely that Tommy DeVito will take the reins for the entire game. His performance could be crucial in securing his spot on the Giants’ final 53-man roster. The Giants have shown confidence in DeVito, and with Drew Lock’s uncertain status, they might not risk placing DeVito on the practice squad, where another team could easily claim him.

Final Roster Implications.

If DeVito impresses in the preseason finale, it could solidify his place on the roster. The Giants’ decision not to add more quarterbacks further indicates their trust in him.
