The Hall of Fame defensive end is part of a group bidding for a 10 percent stake in the New York Giants—a team he helped lead to a Super Bowl title. According to multiple reports, Strahan has partnered with billionaire investor Marc Lasry to submit the offer. Lasry, the founder of Avenue Capital Group and former co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, brings substantial financial muscle to the table.

Eli Manning and Michael Strahan were teammates for years, creating iconic moments on the field for Big Blue. Now, the two Giants legends are entering a new kind of rivalry—this time, not as players, but as potential owners in the Giants’ front office.

Both Manning and Strahan are leading separate groups bidding for a 10 percent minority stake in the Giants. That portion of the franchise is estimated to cost around $750 million, according to Pro Football Talk. Only one group is expected to walk away with the deal.

Strahan Partners with Billionaire Investor.

Strahan isn’t going it alone. He has reportedly partnered with billionaire Marc Lasry, founder of Avenue Capital Group. Lasry is no stranger to sports ownership. He previously owned a share of the Milwaukee Bucks, which he sold in 2023. Even with his financial background, acquiring a piece of a team valued at more than $8 billion still requires a group effort.

Manning Builds His Own Bid.

Eli Manning’s interest in ownership was first reported by Bloomberg in April. While his investment partners have not been named, reports say he has spoken with other retired NFL players and private investors to form a competitive group. Manning, who earned over $250 million during his playing career, will also need additional investors to complete the bid.

Interestingly, Manning and Strahan once discussed teaming up to pursue the deal. According to Sportico, those talks ended when Manning had to withdraw due to potential conflicts with his existing business ventures.

What’s Next for Big Blue’s Future?

With only 10 percent of the franchise available and both bids still in progress, Giants fans are watching closely. Whether Manning or Strahan ends up as part of the ownership group, one thing is clear. The future of the Giants could include a familiar face in the owner’s box.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. He rarely missed a practice and played in a franchise-record 216 regular-season games. From 1996 until a torn pectoral muscle ended his 2004 season, Strahan appeared in 136 straight games. A seven-time Pro Bowler, he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2001 and was voted the Giants’ MVP in both 1998 and 2001. He served as a team captain during the Giants’ Super Bowl-winning season in 2007. Strahan holds the official franchise record with 141.5 career sacks—the fifth-most in NFL history. (Lawrence Taylor had 142.0, but 9.5 came before sacks were tracked officially.) He set an NFL single-season record with 22.5 sacks in 2001 and led the league again in 2003 with 18.5, making him the only Giant to lead the NFL in sacks twice. Known for more than just pass rushing, Strahan also totaled 868 tackles, showcasing his dominance against the run. According to a report from Bloomberg, the two-time Super Bowl MVP is putting together a group to bid for a minority stake in the franchise he led for 16 memorable seasons.

Only One Team for Eli

Back in January, Manning hinted at his interest in becoming an NFL owner—but made it clear there was just one team he had in mind. “There’s probably only one team I’d be interested in pursuing,” he said in an interview with CNBC. “It’s the one I played for for 16 years.”

Manning spent his entire career in New York, earning two Super Bowl titles and etching his name into Giants history. Now, he’s looking to carry that legacy into the boardroom.

Giants Exploring Minority Sale

In February, the Giants revealed that the Mara and Tisch families had hired investment firm Moelis & Co. to look into the potential sale of a minority, non-controlling stake. The Giants, one of the NFL’s oldest franchises, have been co-owned by the Mara and Tisch families for decades. The Mara family has been involved since the team’s founding in 1925, while the Tisch family purchased 50% in 1991.

What’s at Stake?

Sources say that up to 10% of the franchise could be up for sale. With the team valued at over $8 billion, even a small slice is a major investment. Negotiations are still ongoing, and no decisions have been finalized.

One thing is certain—if Eli Manning becomes part of the ownership group, the Giants would gain not just an investor, but a true franchise icon.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The Giants played the New England Patriots. The stakes were high, but Eli led us to a thrilling 21-17 victory. He earned his second Super Bowl MVP award. This win was especially sweet because we had beaten the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII four years earlier. Manning led us to another amazing victory.

Eli Manning’s Poise Under Pressure

During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked Manning about handling the intense pressure. Eli’s response, “Pressure is something you feel when you don’t know what the hell you’re doing,” was classic Eli—calm, confident, and accurate. It showed how preparation and knowledge can turn pressure into performance. Eli wasn’t just playing football; he was following a plan he knew well. This is why he could stay cool under the most intense circumstances.

This quote resonates deeply with me and many other fans. It’s more than just a soundbite; it’s a life lesson. Eli’s ability to stay calm in high-stress moments wasn’t just luck. It was the result of careful preparation and a deep understanding of the game. Remember that amazing game-winning drive in the final minutes of Super Bowl XLVI? It was a masterclass in staying calm and executing under pressure.

For us Giants fans, this quote reminds us why we love Eli. It speaks to a broader truth: confidence and calmness in the face of adversity come from being prepared and knowing your stuff. Whether in sports, work, or any part of life, feeling overwhelmed often comes from not being ready. Eli’s words inspire us to prepare well and face challenges head-on, just like he did on that glorious night in Indianapolis.

The post Eli Manning: Always Calm Under Pressure first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">39059</post-id>

Daniel Jones hosts the receivers in North Carolina

Guest Blogger

New York Giants News

Daniel Jones

Eli Manning

Headline

Jones and the receivers are getting in work before training camp A…

The post Daniel Jones hosts the receivers in North Carolina first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Jones and the receivers are getting in work before training camp

A long-standing tradition will continue in the blazing heat as New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will host a group of Giants receivers this week in North Carolina.

Jones mentioned earlier in the off-season that he would be putting together the trip, which is taking place this week, per a report from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. We don’t yet know which receivers are attending the trip, and we’ll update when we know more. Though Raanan’s tweet confirming that it’s happening does feature a short video from Wan’Dale Robinson of Jalin Hyatt on a jet ski.

Barring a radical (and unreported) change in the NFL’s rules, it’s unlikely that jet skis will figure heavily in the Giants’ passing attack. But these trips are about more than running routes and catching passes — there’s only so much a player can improve throwing and catching against air. They’re also about building familiarity and chemistry outside of the locker room, in the hopes that it will carry through to when things really start to matter in training camp and into the season.

The informal passing camps have been a regular occurrence for the Giants, dating back to the spring and summer of 2011. That year, Eli Manning organized meet-ups with receivers like Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden, and Jerrel Jernigan at facilities in Hoboken and at Duke. Those sessions were in lieu of workouts and mini-camps that were canceled by the lockout which disrupted that year’s off-season.

Manning kept the tradition up even after the advent of the new CBA, and passed it on to Jones.

The post Daniel Jones hosts the receivers in North Carolina first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">38948</post-id>

Eli Manning has faith Daniel Jones will deliver Giants a title

Guest Blogger

New York Giants News

Daniel Jones

Eli Manning

The New York Giants and their fan base seem to have made…

The post Eli Manning has faith Daniel Jones will deliver Giants a title first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

The New York Giants and their fan base seem to have made the transition from Eli Manning to Daniel Jones without much fanfare.

The two men are similar in many ways — laid back, respectful to the media and fans, and professional in their approach to the game.

“I think that’s why we’ve become pals and stayed in touch. I’ve never had resentment toward him in any way just because I appreciate the way he’s handled his business,” Eli said of Jones in an interview with The Athletic. “I appreciate the way he’s come in and worked hard and dealt with the controversy and dealt with the ups and downs. He’s always wanted to make improvements and get better. I appreciate his attitude and his commitment to football. I’m rooting for him and I’m a fan of him.”

These days, Manning — who played his entire 16-year NFL career with Big Blue, ending in 2019 — is more of a fan but still finds some time to mentor his former teammate, friend, and successor.

Earlier this summer, the two hung out together at Eli’s house in the Hamptons. As one can imagine, it wasn’t quite a blowout of a party.

“He was a good houseguest,” Manning said. “We had a good time, definitely had some fun. We played some golf, worked out — he worked out and threw, I just kind of was out there coaching some of the kids up. It was good to hang out with him and get to do that.”

Both men are swimming in money and fame but you’d never know it. They get up every day and go about their business. When Manning retired, he had the distinction of making the most money of any player in NFL history over their career. He is now one of the most successful sports celebrity pitchmen in the world. His newest gig is for the beer conglomerate Corona.

Jones is following his predecessor, inking a four-year extension worth $160 million. Many panned the deal, saying Jones hasn’t had enough success yet to earn such a payday. Manning disagrees.

“It can be stressful when you don’t know what your circumstances are — where you’re playing or how you’re thought of,” he said. “You’ve got coaches changing and GMs changing. I think (it’s important) for him to know this coaching staff and upper management have faith in him and have trust in him that he can go out there and earn everything that he’s gotten.”

What Jones doesn’t have yet that Manning does is a championship. Eli said Jones wants that badly and is determined not only to take the Giants to the top but to be one of the best quarterbacks in the game.

“I think he still feels like he has a lot to prove, that he wants to win a championship, be one of the best quarterbacks. That’s what he’s working toward. I think he’s worked really hard. I think he feels very comfortable in this offense and being the leader of this team and taking ownership and that responsibility. He wants to go out there and play well,” Manning said.

Manning stays close to the game these days. He’s hard to miss. He lives in New Jersey, attends Giant games frequently and is seen all over in his countless ads for a myriad of products.

It’s been four years since Eli donned the blue. He was asked what it is like for him to watch a game in 2023.

“I think just like the average fan. If I’m at the game, I’ve got my kids. I’m just sitting there and usually, I’m going to get them snacks and food. I’ve got my Corona and just enjoying the atmosphere,” Manning said. “I’m not trying to watch too much of the defense and what’s going on. I don’t know the plays coming in, I don’t know their offense and what they’re doing.

“Sometimes, if I really get to sit there and have a moment for critical plays in the game — the two-minute drives, the fourth-quarter situations — I’ll get dialed in a little bit just so if I see Daniel after the game, I can say, ‘That was good. They were playing this.’ I can talk ball with him, which not everybody can do.”

Hopefully, they’ll be talking about Super Bowls at some point.

Related

Giants LT Andrew Thomas named a potential first-time Pro Bowler

NFL executive: Giants’ Daniel Jones ‘has what you look for’ in a QB

Could Giants pursue disgruntled WR Mike Evans?

Email

Like this article?

Sign up for the Giants Wire email newsletter to get our top stories in your inbox every morning

An error has occured

Please re-enter your email address.

Thanks for signing up!

You’ll now receive the top Giants Wire stories each day directly in your inbox.

The post Eli Manning has faith Daniel Jones will deliver Giants a title first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">38796</post-id>

Eli Manning Meet And Greet

Marco Ceo

New York Giants Player Appearances

Eli Manning

Meet New York Giants legend Eli Manning this Friday at Verizon’s Bryant…

The post Eli Manning Meet And Greet first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Meet New York Giants legend Eli Manning this Friday at Verizon’s Bryant Park Store for an exclusive opportunity to meet one of the all-time greats of the game, but you will also have a chance to win Super Bowl tickets for three consecutive years.
