Both young corners bring energy, speed, and confidence to a defense that needs it right now. If they can step up and handle their assignments, it could spark a much-needed boost for the secondary heading into a crucial stretch.

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with safety Jevon Holland, adding a dynamic playmaker to their secondary. Holland brings both experience and production after spending the first four years of his career with the Miami Dolphins.

Originally drafted 36th overall in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Holland has been a consistent force on the field. At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, he’s played in 60 games with 57 starts. Over that span, he racked up 301 tackles (219 solo), five sacks, and five interceptions. He also added 25 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and even returned one for a touchdown.

Early Success and College Roots at Oregon

Holland made an immediate impact in the league. In his rookie year, he earned a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team. That season, he posted 69 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, and three fumble recoveries—proving his ability to contribute in every phase of the game.

Before entering the NFL, Holland played college ball at Oregon. As a freshman in 2018, he grabbed five interceptions in 13 games. In 2019, he added another four picks—including one for a touchdown—and tallied 66 total tackles with five tackles for loss. His standout performance earned him second-team All-Pac-12 honors. He then opted out of the 2020 season to prepare for the NFL Draft.

What Holland Brings to the Giants

With Holland now in Big Blue, the Giants are gaining a versatile, instinctive safety who can play deep or close to the line. His knack for creating turnovers and defending the pass adds much-needed depth and skill to the Giants’ defensive backfield.
