The New York Giants finally made their move. After months of questions, rumors, and frustration, the organization has a new leader. John Harbaugh is officially the 21st head coach in franchise history. And for the first time in a long time, it feels like the Giants landed a proven winner.

Harbaugh did not hide how much this job meant to him. He called it a “profound honor” and made it clear by saying, “I wanted this job.” Harbaugh wanted to be here. He chose New York. That alone makes this hire feel different.

A Proven Winner Comes to New York

John Harbaugh is not coming in as a project. He is coming in as one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history. Harbaugh ranks 14th all time in wins. He led the Baltimore Ravens for 18 seasons and guided them to a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XLVII. During his time in Baltimore, he coached 180 of the franchise’s 276 regular season wins.

His Ravens teams reached the playoffs 12 times. They won six division titles. They appeared in four AFC Championship Games. He also owns 13 postseason victories, tied for seventh in league history and second among active coaches.

For a Giants franchise that has struggled with consistency for years, this kind of resume matters.

Why the Giants Chose Harbaugh

This hire was not rushed. According to team president John Mara, the process was thorough and deliberate. Mara praised general manager Joe Schoen for bringing in a strong group of candidates. But through all the interviews and conversations, Harbaugh stood out.

Why the Giants Chose Harbaugh

Mara said Harbaugh separated himself with his conviction and vision for building a winning organization. That is what this team needs. Not just play calling. Not just motivation speeches. A real plan. Steve Tisch echoed that same message. He described Harbaugh as a proven winner whose teams are disciplined, resilient, and prepared. He also highlighted Harbaugh’s ability to connect with players.

That connection is huge.

Great coaches do not just design schemes. They earn trust. They create culture. They hold players accountable.

The New York Giants fire head coach Brian Daboll after 2-8 start to fourth season. The move signals a full reset for a franchise that desperately needs new direction.

The New York Giants have officially decided to move on from head coach Brian Daboll after opening the season 2 8. The announcement came down Monday morning, and it signals the end of a tenure that once looked promising but never truly got back on track after the 2022 playoff run. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will take over as interim head coach for the rest of the year.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport first reported the move. By the time it became official, most fans were already expecting it. The season felt stuck in repeat mode, and the collapse in Chicago on Sunday only added to the frustration. Blowing a late 10 point lead to the Bears pushed emotions to the edge and brought this decision to the front door.

Daboll’s Tenure Never Recovered After 2022

Early Success Raised Expectations

Daboll arrived with energy, creativity, and the reputation of a coach who could bring stability to a franchise badly in need of it. His debut season supported that belief. The Giants went 9-7-1 and made the postseason, then stunned Minnesota on the road. It felt like the foundation of something real.

But that first year ended up being the high point. Over the next two and a half seasons, the wins slowed to a crawl. The Giants collected only 11 victories during that stretch. The spark faded, the offense stalled, and the team never found the consistency needed to take the next step.

Repeated Late Game Collapses

What made things worse was how predictable the losses became. Week after week, the Giants were in games, only for small mistakes and mental lapses to pile up at the worst possible times. Sunday’s loss to Chicago looked like a replay of earlier failures. A solid lead late in the game, followed by a complete shutdown in the final minutes. Four straight defeats and another road meltdown sealed Daboll’s fate.

Ownership acknowledged the disappointment directly. John Mara and Steve Tisch said the results were not acceptable, and they understood why fans have grown frustrated. They thanked Daboll for his time in New York, but it was clear they felt the franchise had hit a dead end.

Joe Schoen Will Lead the Next Chapter

One part of the announcement surprised fewer people. General manager Joe Schoen is staying in place and will run the head coaching search. Ownership doubled down on Schoen just last week, and Monday’s statement confirmed it once again.

This decision puts significant responsibility on Schoen’s shoulders. The next hire will shape the direction of the franchise for years. It will impact how Jaxson Dart develops, how the roster is built, and how quickly the team can climb out of this cycle. Schoen pushed for continuity, and now he has to deliver on it.

Why the Timing Made Sense

Daboll Entered 2025 With Very Little Margin

Daboll began this season firmly on the hot seat. The 3 14 finish in 2024, combined with the decision to move on from Daniel Jones, left ownership unsure if another year would bring change.

Going into 2025, the front office tried to give Daboll every possible chance to turn things around. The quarterback room was rebuilt with multiple directions to explore. Russell Wilson arrived. Jameis Winston arrived. And the Giants made the bold move to trade back into the first round to draft Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart. The message was clear. Daboll had options. It was on him to make it work.

The Results Were Too Hard to Ignore

Ten games in, the Giants looked like the same team from last year. Injuries, stalled drives, communication breakdowns, and defensive slip ups kept showing up. The Chicago loss did not create the problem. It confirmed that nothing was changing.

At 2 8, with a young quarterback waiting to be developed and a fan base running out of patience, ownership chose to hit the reset button now rather than dragging out the inevitable.

What Comes Next for the Giants

Mike Kafka will run the team the rest of the way. Schoen will begin the coaching search. And for the Giants, this becomes another turning point in a long stretch of uncertainty.

There is young talent in important positions, and the franchise needs leadership that can build something stable around it. The Daboll era started with hope but ended with the feeling that everything was stuck in neutral.

The Giants now have a chance to start fresh. The question is who will step in and take on the challenge.

Deadline Closes and the Giants Make No Moves, leaving the team with the same holes that have defined their 2-7 start. The front office passed on adding draft picks.

The NFL trade deadline came and went, and the New York Giants made zero moves. Not one. For a team sitting at 2,7 after nine weeks, silence feels louder than any splash deal they could have made. Fans expected activity, even if it was not the blockbuster wide receiver move everyone dreams about. Instead, we saw a front office that chose to stand completely still.

No Additions and No Subtractions

Given how the season has played out, the Giants looked like a clear candidate to sell off a few struggling pieces. There were whispers around Russell Wilson. There were questions about whether Jaylin Hyatt, Evan Neal, or even Deonte Banks would be moved. None of it materialized. The Giants neither added talent nor cleaned up the roster, and that leaves plenty of frustration across Giants Nation.

The expectation was never that the team would chase a headline name. It was more about repositioning the roster, opening spots for younger players, and collecting future assets. Instead, the deadline passed quietly, and that lack of action raises real questions about the vision of this front office.

The One Piece That Truly Matters

The good news is the hardest piece of the puzzle is already solved. The Giants have their quarterback. Jaxson Dart is the real deal, and every week he continues to show why he was worth the investment. When you have your franchise quarterback, the future can still be bright. The next step is surrounding him with real talent, stability, and dependable playmakers.

Can This Regime Build Around Dart?

That is where the doubt creeps in. The Giants have been inconsistent when it comes to adding and developing offensive talent. The misses are starting to stack up, and patience is wearing thin. Dart deserves a roster that complements his skill set. Right now, he is carrying too much of the load. That should never be the case for a young quarterback.

The front office has decisions to make and a rising star they must protect at all costs. The opportunity is there, but trust in this regime is far from strong.

Giants Exploring Trade Options Ahead of the Deadline. Reports say GM Joe Schoen is calling around the league for WR help before November 4th.

The post Giants Exploring Trade Options Ahead of the Deadline first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

New York Giants Eye Wide Receiver Help

With just over three weeks until the NFL trade deadline, reports say the New York Giants are working the phones. Joe Schoen and the front office are looking for help at wide receiver as injuries continue to test the team’s depth.

The Giants have called teams around the league for wide receiver help, per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, confirming what many fans have suspected. The front office knows they can’t keep asking Jaxson Dart to do everything without reliable options downfield.

The loss of Malik Nabers for the entire 2025 season was a major blow. His chemistry with Dart had been one of the few bright spots early on. Add in the recent injury to Darius Slayton, and suddenly the Giants’ passing game looks thin and uncertain.

Brian Daboll has made it clear that the offense needs more playmakers, and help may have to come through a trade. The Giants’ receiving corps needs a proven, reliable option who can stretch the field and take some pressure off Dart.

Pelissero Lists Top Wideouts on the Trade Block

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, several big-name wide receivers have surfaced as potential trade targets ahead of the deadline. These are the names currently drawing attention from teams across the league:

Jakobi Meyers (Raiders) Calvin Ridley (Titans) Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, or Brandin Cooks (Saints) Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins)

Pelissero also noted that a deal for Chris Olave would reportedly take around a third-round pick to get done. That’s not cheap — and personally, I don’t want the Giants giving up any future assets or draft capital at all.

If a move gets made, it should come from players the team is ready to move on from, not from sacrificing future picks. This season is about building a foundation, not cashing in long-term chips for short-term fixes.

What About Isaiah Hodgins?

Honestly, I’m still wondering why the Giants haven’t already targeted Isaiah Hodgins. He knows Brian Daboll’s system, has produced here before, and brings a dependable presence to the offense. Hodgins flashed real chemistry during his first stint in New York and understands the expectations of this market.

He’s not a superstar, but he’s reliable — and that alone would be a boost right now. Best of all, he’d cost next to nothing to bring back. Sometimes the smart move isn’t the flashy one, it’s the familiar one that fits.

Other Giants Who Could Draw Interest

If Schoen does decide to shift focus before the deadline, a few names stand out as possible trade bait:

Russell Wilson – Experience QB, but his going to be hard to move

Evan Neal – Still young, but has struggled. A team might take a flier if they believe they can fix him.

Deonte Banks – Talented corner, though inconsistent. Could draw offers if a team needs secondary help.

Jalin Hyatt – Speedster who hasn’t broken out yet but still holds potential value.

Devin Singletary – A veteran back who could be moved to free up space or add a late-round pick.

What to Expect Moving Forward

The Giants find themselves at a crossroads. Do they try to bolster the roster for a late-season push, or start thinking about 2026 and beyond?

Schoen has been aggressive in the past, but this year’s market might be more about smart value plays than splashy deals. Expect him to explore every angle — adding a receiver, shedding a veteran, and maybe even picking up a mid-round draft pick in the process.

Whatever happens, the next few weeks will shape how the second half of the season unfolds. The trade deadline could give the Giants a small spark, or it could mark the beginning of a longer rebuild.

One thing’s for sure: New York is staying active. Giants fans just hope the moves lead to something that finally clicks.

Gabe Davis Visiting Giants This Week.

The New York Giants are scheduled to host wide receiver Gabe Davis for a visit on Wednesday. The news was first reported by John Frascella and later confirmed by ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Davis has strong ties to the Giants’ front office. General manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll were both with him during their time in Buffalo. That familiarity could help Davis find his footing again after a down year.

Last season in Jacksonville, Davis played in 10 games, totaling 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Still just 26 years old, he’s looking for a fresh start after struggling to find a consistent role with the Jaguars.

Giants Make Roster Changes at WR and CB.

To make room for new additions, the Giants waived two undrafted defensive backs: Tommy McCormick (Idaho) and RJ Delancy III (Wisconsin).

In their place, the team added wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey and cornerback T.J. Moore. These moves reflect the Giants’ continued effort to reshape the bottom of the roster ahead of training camp.

A Reunion With Daboll Could Spark Davis.

While Davis didn’t make much of an impact in Jacksonville, he was a key contributor for Buffalo in past seasons. His playoff performances with the Bills stood out, and his chemistry with Daboll could be a factor if he signs with New York.

The Giants are still sorting out their receiver depth behind Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton. Davis could offer size, experience, and a potential red zone boost if he makes the team.

Stay tuned for updates as the visit unfolds.

Giants Pick Up Thibodeaux’s Fifth-Year Option

Over NFL Draft weekend, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen announced the team will pick up the fifth-year option on edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. The former No. 5 overall pick from the 2022 draft has flashed big-play ability but hasn’t been consistently dominant. Injuries have also limited his availability at times.

Despite some trade rumors swirling earlier this offseason, the Giants front office shut those down quickly. Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll still see Thibodeaux as a core piece of the defense, especially with the addition of rookie edge rusher Abdul Carter. The duo is expected to bring speed and aggression off the edge—a welcome boost to the pass rush.

Evan Neal’s Option Declined, Position Change Rumored

While Thibodeaux’s option was picked up, the team declined the fifth-year option for fellow 2022 first-rounder Evan Neal. Taken just two picks after Thibodeaux, Neal has struggled to find his footing at right tackle. He’s dealt with multiple injuries and inconsistent play during his time on the line.

Now, the Giants are reportedly preparing to move Neal to guard in hopes of a better fit. The former Alabama standout will likely compete for a new role this summer, with the coaching staff giving him a chance to reboot his career on the inside.

Big Blue Banking on a Stronger Front

With Thibodeaux locked in and Abdul Carter ready to contribute, the Giants are betting on a disruptive edge duo to power their defense. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on how Neal adjusts to life at guard. The 2025 season could be a turning point for both players—and for a Giants roster looking to return to playoff form.

All Eyes on the Giants Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is tomorrow, and the New York Giants are officially on the clock with the third overall pick. General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll are both firmly on the hot seat. This selection isn’t just about the team’s future—it could decide their own.

As a New York Giants fan and blogger who is excited about this moment, I’m laying out my top three candidates and a couple of trade scenarios worth watching.

Top 3 Options for Big Blue

Abdul Carter – LB/EDGE, Penn State

Abdul Carter brings relentless energy and a natural ability to disrupt plays off the edge. He’s a high-motor defender who consistently finds his way into the backfield. Adding Carter to a group that already features Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux on the outside—and Dexter Lawrence II dominating on the interior—would give the Giants one of the most imposing defensive fronts in the league. It’s the kind of move that could reshape the defense and make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks. In today’s NFL, you can never have too many pass rushers.

Travis Hunter – CB/WR, Colorado

Travis Hunter is the most intriguing two-way player in the draft. The Giants have needs at both wide receiver and cornerback, and Hunter is uniquely qualified to help at both spots. On offense, he’d be an ideal complement to Malik Nabers—forming a dangerous duo that could challenge any secondary. Defensively, Hunter brings the shutdown ability the Giants have been missing. Paulson Adebo, signed this offseason, hasn’t yet proven he can be that true No. 1 corner. Hunter has the talent to be just that, and experts believe he could reach Pro Bowl level on either side of the ball. He’s the kind of playmaker that instantly raises a team’s ceiling.

Shedeur Sanders – QB, Colorado

The Giants have done extensive work on Shedeur Sanders, meeting with him multiple times this offseason. Both John Mara and Joe Schoen have been clear—the search for a franchise quarterback is the top priority. Sanders is widely considered the second-best quarterback in the 2025 draft behind Miami’s Cam Ward. He’s a poised pocket passer with a sharp football IQ who remains calm under pressure and embraces big moments. He welcomes the limelight—something not every QB can handle in New York. With veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on board, Sanders would have time to develop before taking over the huddle. It’s a smart long-term investment if the Giants believe he’s their guy.

Trade Scenarios to Watch

Trading Up

So far, it’s been quiet on the trade-up front. The Titans appear locked in on selecting Cam Ward, and there’s been little noise about the Giants jumping ahead of them. The market just doesn’t seem hot for a move up right now.

Trading Down

There have been whispers that the Giants have fielded calls about moving down. But unless a deal blows them away, I’m staying put. With so much riding on this pick, it’s time to plant the flag and choose the future.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. And if you’re gearing up for a fresh season, there’s no better way than with the just-released Russell Wilson New York Giants jersey.

As the NFL Draft approaches, the New York Giants remain one of the more intriguing teams to watch. Connor Hughes of SNY recently reported that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is firmly on the Giants’ radar. According to Hughes, head coach Brian Daboll is especially high on Dart—ranking him just behind Cam Ward among potential QB options.

Is Jaxson Dart a Sneaky Trade-Up Target?

Hughes shared, “Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the Giants as a trade-up option on Thursday…he’s someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward…Dart has that [toughness].”

That toughness could make Dart an ideal fit in Daboll’s offense, which demands poise under pressure and the ability to fight through adversity.

Trade-Up Talk Brings Questions

Of course, trading up comes at a price. The Giants would need to part with valuable draft capital to move into a spot where Dart might be available—likely in the middle or back end of the first round. That raises a critical question: is it worth it?

Personally, I’m a fan of Jaxson Dart. His arm talent, leadership, and ability to take hits and bounce back make him a great developmental option. But ideally, the Giants could land him in the second round without sacrificing key assets. That may be wishful thinking given how QB-needy teams are lining up this year.

No More Buzz Around Shedeur Sanders

Back in December, there was plenty of hype connecting Shedeur Sanders to the Giants. That talk has now cooled significantly. According to Hughes, “There’s not much out there right now connecting Shedeur Sanders to Giants. That hype has cooled dramatically.”

Could this be a strategic smokescreen? It’s possible. Teams often throw up distractions ahead of the draft. But for now, the Sanders-Giants link seems to have faded, leaving players like Dart and Ward as more realistic targets.

The 2025 NFL offseason is packed with important dates that New York Giants fans won’t want to miss. From the NFL Draft to the start of training camp, these events set the tone for the season ahead. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s happening and when.

NFL Draft Week: April 24–26

NFL Draft Day 1 – April 24, 8:00 PM

This is the opening night of the draft, where teams select their first-round picks. It’s the most anticipated day, often filled with trades, surprises, and potential franchise-changing selections.

NFL Draft Day 2 – April 25, 7:00 PM

Rounds 2 and 3 take place on Day 2. These picks can bring in starters and key depth pieces, especially for a team like the Giants looking to build on both sides of the ball.

NFL Draft Day 3 – April 26, 12:00 PM

The final day covers Rounds 4 through 7. While these picks are often overlooked, the Giants have found gems in these rounds before—like Ahmad Bradshaw and David Diehl.

OTA Offseason Workouts: May & June

Dates: May 27–28, May 30, June 2–3, June 5, June 9–10, June 12–13

Organized Team Activities (OTAs) are voluntary workouts that help players get back into football shape and give coaches a chance to start implementing schemes. It’s also the first time rookies and veterans share the field.

Mandatory Minicamp: June 17–19

This is the first required team activity of the offseason. All players under contract must attend. It’s a crucial time for team bonding, playbook installs, and for coaches to evaluate who’s ready to compete in training camp.

Training Camp: July 24–August 6

Training camp is where the real work begins. Position battles heat up, playbooks expand, and the foundation for the regular season is laid. This is when we’ll see who’s ready to make the 53-man roster.

Stay tuned and mark your calendars—this offseason will shape how the 2025 Giants take the field in September.

Uncertainty Remains Around Evan Neal’s Position and Contract.

Neal’s Role on the Line Still Undecided.

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen once again fielded questions this week about the future of right tackle Evan Neal. When asked whether Neal could shift to guard—a position he played as a freshman at Alabama—Schoen kept things vague.

“He’s going to do whatever he can to help the organization,” Schoen said. “He’s motivated, he’s had a good offseason, he’s working hard.”

Translation: The team still isn’t sure where Neal fits best.

Fifth-Year Option Appears Unlikely.

It’s becoming increasingly unlikely the Giants will pick up Neal’s fifth-year option. Locking him in for 2026 would mean a guaranteed $16.7 million, and that’s a hefty price for a player who has underperformed and struggled to stay healthy.

Schoen confirmed no decision has been made, but the signs aren’t promising. When a team brings in a free agent like Jermaine Eluemunor and pays him to take over your position, it’s never a great endorsement.

Neal’s Injuries Have Stalled His Growth.

Drafted No. 7 overall in 2022 after a standout college career at Alabama, Neal’s NFL run has been rocky. He’s missed 22 of 44 regular-season games due to injury, including 10 in 2023 alone. He had ankle surgery in early 2024 and started the year behind Eluemunor on the depth chart.

Neal did return to the starting lineup in November after Andrew Thomas went down, but he’ll need a strong, healthy season to reshape the narrative.

Time Running Out to Prove Himself.

Neal is entering a critical year. The Giants need answers, and fast. Whether he stays at tackle or moves inside, his performance in 2025 will likely determine whether he remains part of the long-term plan.

Right now, it feels like a long shot that the team commits $16.7 million to a player who hasn’t delivered consistent results.
