My ideas may seem out of the box, but please bare with me. If Reese follows this, we dominate (IMO). My goal is to fix the team in free agency and then draft best player available in the draft. Please note a PFF score of 50.0 is average. My goal is for the team is to be FASTER on field in 2017 and also to leave us in position to resign Odell in future and draft a QB this year, which in my opinion we won’t do if we don’t fix lines in FA.

1. Release Dwayne Harris

Replace him with free agent Coradelle Patterson(PFF rating of 67.2 for 2016). Why? Even though Harris dominates on kick coverage he is mediocre on the depth chart receiver wise. Adding a more explosive option that is younger and can add SPEED(4.39 forty yard dash) to what I feel is an average speed team would be very smart. He is 25 years old, and would fill the need for a bigger(6’2″ 220) wideout in our WR group. I also add FA Marquise Goodwin of Buffalo. He is track fast(4.29 forty) and can catch. Plays specials and as a 5th wideout he is a nice change of pace. Deadly potential on WR screens as well. Please Note: I love Terrell Pryor but I believe Browns overpay to keep him as they have 104 mil in cap room.(not a typo).

2. Allow Hankins to leave as a free agent.

Allow Jonathan Hankins to leave as a free agent. Cut Robert Thomas and replace them with Dontari Poe(PFF rating of 70.5 2016) formerly of Chiefs. 27 years old NT/DT. He is a superior athlete that can get sacks up the middle. He runs a 4.98 forty yard(see my theme here?) dash at 320lbs. He even threw a td pass this year, while getting successful snaps in the goalie ala refrigerator Perry.

3. Release Will Beatty.

Bobby Hart and sign free agent Larry Warford(PFF rating of 82.0 for 2016) to play RG. He is 26 and is the type of fundamentally sound run bully we need inside to rebuild this line to elite status. a stomach of PUGH/WESTBURG/WARFORD would make major alleys to RUN rock in. If Warford signs with Lion, I would add Luke Joekel instead. He played Tackle and Guard and is 25 from the Jags as a Free agent.

4. Release Larry Donnell, Will Johnson, Matt Lacosse.

Release Larry Donnell, Will Johnson, Matt Lacosse and sign Levine Toilolo(PFF rating of 67.6 for 2016) of the ATL falcons to play TE, he is an unrestricted free agent. He showed himself to be a top 12 blocker and even flashed promise as a catcher/red zone threat. The 6’8″ 265lbs Stanford grad is smart, strong and gonna be cheaper than name brand guys while coming from a super bowl appearance. He and Adams would be like twin towers in the redzone at 6’8″ and 6’6″ with Tye giving quality back up minutes…. As a back up plan I also LOVE me some Jack Doyle(PFF rating 76.0) of Indianapolis. 26 year old and blocks like an old school guy, just doesn’t have the overall upside of Levine.

5. Release Leon Hall, Coty Sensabaugh, restructure DRC.

Release Leon Hall, Coty Sensabaugh, restructure DRC to 3.3 mil(instead of 6.8) per plus 1.2 mill upfront(with incentives) which should drop his cap hit by about 2.3 mil and sign free agent Sterling Moore(PFF rating of 72.3), free agent from New Orleans. I don’t know if you remember but this little f&#ker but he gave Odell issues when they met. He is fast and agile and nasty. He can play on the island like he did versus Odell or slot and he tackles. had 44 of them this year with 13 break ups and 2 picks. I see him as depth this year and a starter next year when DRC is unrestricted.

6. Release Marshall Newhouse, and do not resign John Jerry, move Eric Flowers to RT.

Release Marshall Newhouse, and do not resign John Jerry, move Eric Flowers to RT and sign Riley Reiff(PFF rating of 67.5) to play LT. 28 years old free agent from Detroit, he is durable and playing better ever year of his career. He has played on both sides of the line.

7. Release Rashad Jennings, Shane Vareen, Orleans Darkwa, Bobby Rainey.

sign Latavius Murray(PFF rating 72.0), 26 year old free agent from Raiders. He is the every down guy that we need to run inside and outside. With healthy mix of Perkins and whoever we draft, I think this unit could be a strength again. I only cut Vareen because to me he and Perkins similar with regard to role moving forward.

8. Release Trevin Wade, Mykelle Thompson and Nat Behre.

Release Trevin Wade, Mykelle Thompson and Nat Behre and sign free agent Dre Kilpatrick(PFF rating 74.7) from the Bengals. fiesty and long with a rangy style(6’2″) we lack in secondary. He can swing out to FS too in certain packages. 27 years old, he could be a player here for a good long time. Played huge games on island at BAMA. Young and seasoned. 46 tackles 3 picks 10 deflections in 2016 plus he and Landon already brothers from that SEC championship team.

9. Release Kevin Sheppard, JT Thomas.

Release Kevin Sheppard, JT Thomas and sign free agent Linebacker Kevin Minter(PFF rating of 81.0 for 2016). He had 88 tackles 3.5 sacks for Arizona last year and is 26 years old. This LSU player is a homeboy of Odell too having played under Les Myles for the tigers together. He adds SPEED and versatility to a mediocre group. He, Robinson and Kennard would be a solid group. Add in BJ Goodson and whoever we add in draft and we now have guys to cover the ever changing role of the leagues top TEs.

10. Resign JPP. Pay Cruz 15% over the league minimum.

Resign JPP. Pay Cruz 15% over the league minimum with incentives.
If we were to pull this off we could add game changers in draft. When I did the math here(roughly), I found that this is very much possible of us, assuming we don’t pay JPP the way we paid Vernon. We need JPP to take a discount of sorts. If not, I let him walk, promote Romeo Okwara and draft a replacement before end of round three of 2017 Draft.

Please are your thoughts. On paper, they should have one of the best defenses in the NFL this season, but they still have to put in the work to prove they are one of the best units in the league. With their offseason acquisitions, the Giants have favorable NFL odds of winning the NFC East. While the defensive issues the team has had in recent years have been addressed, their offense still needs some work, and will be key to their success this season.

Last year, one of the biggest problems the Giants had was the lack of a consistent running game. Over the years, the Giants have gone from one of the best rushing teams in the league to one of the worst, season ending injuries to players like David Wilson, have altered the G-men running plans.
The Giants now mainly use a committee of running backs, and quarterback Eli Manning has been forced to throw the ball more than the team would like him to.

In the past two seasons, injuries to their best receivers have had an impact on the effectiveness of their passing game, but expect that to change this season because the Giants have one of the best receiving corps in the league and they are all healthy.

Victor Cruz, who was New York’s best receiver before the team drafted Odell Beckham Jr., did not play last year because he was recovering from an injury. With Cruz healthy and expected to be ready for the season opener, the Giants will have their best slot receiver back. One of the benefits of the injury to Cruz was that it forced the Giants to turn to some of their unproven receivers, which ended up working out well for the team.

Tight end Larry Donnell, only played in eight games last season due to an injury, but Will Tye stepped up in his absence and finished the season with 464 yards and 3 touchdowns. With a healthy Donnell back in the lineup, the Giants will have a very good tight end combination that will create matchup problems and be difficult to defend against. The speedy Tye will be able to stretch defenses, and Donnell, who is New York’s best red zone weapon, will be used mainly in short yardage situations.

During the draft, the Giants used their second round pick on wide receiver Sterling Shepard, whom they expect to contribute immediately. With the trio of Beckham, Cruz, and Shepard, Eli Manning will be able to carve up a lot of defenses this season. While Manning finally has some weapons on offense, he has to be more careful with the ball and avoid turning the ball over as he has done in the past.

The biggest question the team has now is if Victor Cruz will return to his previous form when he takes the field. However, the Giants feel the year he took off will allow him to come back stronger than ever, and now that he has other capable receivers playing with him, he doesn’t have to do everything by himself.

The post Giants’ Offense Will Be One Of The Best In The NFL This Season first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">6578</post-id>

Brad Wing’s Celebrity Softball Game

Marco Ceo

New York Giants Player Appearances

Ahmad Bradshaw

Brad Wing

Eli Apple

Landon Collins

Larry Donnell

Odell Beckham Jr

Plaxico Burress

Zak Deossie

Brad Wing’s Celebrity Charity Softball game with Odell Beckham Jr to benefit…

The post Brad Wing’s Celebrity Softball Game first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Brad Wing’s Celebrity Charity Softball game with Odell Beckham Jr to benefit the Ryan McElroy Children’s Cancer Foundation will take place on June 20, 2016. We’ll have to wait and see where that goes.”

The New York Posts Paul Schwartz fears that Donnell may be forced into an early retirement.

The Giants know all too well how an innocuous neck injury can devolve into so much more — for example, the premature retirements of linebacker Antonio Pierce and running back David Wilson. There is concern that tight end Larry Donnell could be facing a similar fate.

Donnell, 27, was having a strong 2015 season, finishing with 63 receptions for 623 yards and 6 touchdowns before the injury ended his season.

Hopefully fan favorite Donnell could heal up and return to the G-men, because he would certainly be missed.

The post Is Larry Donnell’s neck injury career ending? first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">5552</post-id>

Donnell And DeOssie Lost For The Season

Marco Ceo

In Reese We Trust

Injury Bug

New York Giants News

NFL News

Larry Donnell

Zak Deossie

Donnell And DeOssie Lost For The Season The Giants added two additional…

The post Donnell And DeOssie Lost For The Season first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Donnell And DeOssie Lost For The Season

The Giants added two additional names to their season ending IR yesterday. Zak DeOssie will miss time with a wrist injury and TE Larry Donnell will also be shut down with lingering neck issues, according to Giants.com

Long snapper Zak DeOssie, who has not missed a game in his eight-year career, was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury. Since joining the Giants as a fourth-round draft choice in 2007, he has played in 140 consecutive games, the second-longest active streak on the team, behind only Eli Manning’s 179 straight appearances.
DeOssie is the second of the Giants’ three season-long captains to go in injured reserve, joining linebacker Jon Beason (who has been on I.R. since Nov. 7). Manning is the third team captain. DeOssie has been elected a captain by his teammates each of the last five seasons.
The Giants also placed tight end Larry Donnell on injured reserve because of the neck injury he suffered at New Orleans on Nov. 1. Donnell has missed the last four games.

There is a lot of talent on our injured reserve list. Hopefully all these players we come back strong next year.

Please like, comment and share.

The post Donnell And DeOssie Lost For The Season first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">4962</post-id>

Larry Donnell Autograph Signing

Marco Ceo

New York Giants Player Appearances

Autograph Signing

Larry Donnell

Larry Donnell Autograph Signing Do you want to have your jersey, football,…

The post Larry Donnell Autograph Signing first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Larry Donnell Autograph Signing

Do you want to have your jersey, football, or helmet autographed by Larry Donnell? The prime time lights we’re not too bright as multiple players stepped up to help secure a victory as the Giants continue to battle through injuries. This victory finds the Giants in first place in the NFC East with a 3-2 record.

Eli Manning is proud that the Giants are doing the things they need to do in order to win ballgames, especially late in the fourth quarter.

I am proud of the way that we fought. I am proud of the way that we didn’t get down, didn’t get frustrated and we wanted to change it. We were committed to fixing it, we knew what we had to do — we were playing well, we were doing good things, we were getting games in the fourth quarter, we had to play better in the fourth quarter. We had to play our best football at those times and these last three weeks we have been able to do that. We have been able to finish games and that is what you have to do in this league — you have to be able to finish games and play your best football at the end.

The highlight of the night came with 21 seconds remaining in the game when Eli Manning threw a perfectly placed ball to tight end Larry Donnell for the score.

Once I had it, I had to hold that thing. You know, the game was on the line and I had to make a play. Donnell recalls.

The Giants received major contributions from both Odell Beckham Jr. and Shane Vereen. Beckham racked up 7 receptions for 121 yards and a TD score and ended up tweaking his prior hamstring injury forcing him to sit out several series in the fourth quarter.

Beckham insisted on re-entering the game, for the final few plays, He was key in drawing a pass interference call setting up the Giants with a 1st down deep in the Niners territory.

It’s just one of those things. It seems like we’re always counted out. Things don’t always go our way. In the past we’ve made these mistakes. They say history is doomed to repeat itself and it was just great to see this team and the fans just light the stadium up. [The fans] lit the stadium up and they gave us the energy we needed to be able to go down there and score the winning touchdown. Said Beckham.

Shane Vereen was blending well into the game causing many miss matches in the running and passing attack. Vareen totaled 5 carries / 24 yards and 8 receptions for 86 yards with a touchdown. Knowing that this game was a big win.

Absolutely. Absolutely. A game like this, I think, is huge. Momentum wise, however, you know, it’s only Week 5. We’ve still have eleven games to go. We’ve got a long way to go. We’ve got to get a lot better on offense. Good thing we got this win. Let’s move forward to next week.

Next week is a big divisional game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lets all hope the Giants can extend their winning streak to four games.

The post Giants Win With Last Second Heroics first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">4741</post-id>

Jordan Cameron Would Be Perfect Fit For Giants

Noah Reiss

Free Agency

In Reese We Trust

New York Giants News

Headline

Jordan Cameron

Larry Donnell

New York Giants

Jordan Cameron Would Be Perfect Fit For Giants The NFL is quickly…

The post Jordan Cameron Would Be Perfect Fit For Giants first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Jordan Cameron Would Be Perfect Fit For Giants

The NFL is quickly evolving and one position that has become more and more important is the tight end.

After week three of the 2014 season, the Giants thought they had their star tight end in Larry Donnell who caught three touchdowns passes from Eli Manning against the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, the Giants discovered throughout the season that Donnell was raw and often inconsistent.

Although Donnell had a solid stat line with 63 receptions, 623 yards, and 6 touchdowns, the 26 year-old tight end struggled holding onto the football recording four fumbles. He also was very inconsistent as a blocker in the run game. Donnell still has the intangibles to be one of the top tight ends in the league, but will certainly be a project. This is why the Giants should look to add a tight end in free agency.

A perfect fit would be former Cleveland Brown Jordan Cameron. According to recent reports from Jason La Canfora of CBS, the impending free agent has no interest in returning to Cleveland. Cameron, who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2013, saw his numbers dip this season due to multiple concussions and the horrendous play of quarterbacks Bryan Hoyer and Johnny Manziel.

If the Giants target Cameron in March, a one-year deal would make sense for both sides. The Giants would add another weapon for Eli Manning to go along with Victor Cruz, Rashad Jennings, Ruben Randle, and Odell Beckham Jr, while Cameron will get the chance to perform better in a contract year with an explosive offense.

The post Jordan Cameron Would Be Perfect Fit For Giants first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">3790</post-id>
