His career totals include 696 rushing attempts for 2,832 yards and 23 touchdowns and 134 receptions for 1,050 yards and three scores.

The Giants continue clearing out roster and cap space releasing Hillis saves New York $945,000 against the Giants salary cap for 2015.

Hillis Originally joined the Giants in October 2013 after David Wilson suffered a season-ending neck injury. Hills himself was placed on injured reserve in November after suffering his second concussion.

“It’s tough,” Hillis said. “You know, because you’re right, I’ve been trying to get my career going again and it’s just been really tough because I haven’t had a lot of opportunities. But, I’ve been blessed to be on the team. It’s crazy how one hit can take me out for the rest of the year. That’s very depressing.”

Giants might be looking into the draft to provide help for Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams.

The post Giants Release RB Peyton Hillis first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">3854</post-id>

David Wilson Not Fully Cleared

Marco Ceo

Injury Bug

Off Season

Andre Williams

David Wilson

Peyton Hillis

Rashad Jennings

David Wilson Not Fully Cleared The Giants 3rd year running back David…

The post David Wilson Not Fully Cleared first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

David Wilson Not Fully Cleared

The Giants 3rd year running back David Wilson will have to wait till the start of training camp for full clearance to return to work. His CT Scan of his surgically fused neck showed healing, but is not ready for full contact.

The reality is it has only been four and one-half months since the surgery. We anticipate that when David is re-evaluated at the start of training camp he will be cleared at that point.” said Giants Team Physician Dr. Russell Warren.

Players are set to report to training camp on July 21. Wilson a first-round draft choice in 2012 was hurt against the Eagles, and inactive for three games and then eventually placed on injured reserve.

Everything I got this morning was good news – there was nothing bad or negative,” Wilson said. “I’m very pleased and very blessed for my healing process to continue.”

This offseason the Giants added insurance at the running back position signing Rashad Jennings away from Oakland. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Jennings is expected to be the Giants’ primary back. Other addition include drafting Andre Williams from Boston College in the fourth round, and resigning veteran Peyton Hillis.

“Obviously, we won’t put all our eggs in one basket,” said Giants GM Jerry Reese.

Addendum July 21, 2014
From David Wilson twitter account

@4stillRunning: Just got cleared ….. #cleared for everything now the story continues #pocketrocket

The post David Wilson Not Fully Cleared first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

 <post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">2275</post-id>
