The front office passed on adding draft picks.

The NFL trade deadline came and went, and the New York Giants made zero moves. Not one. For a team sitting at 2,7 after nine weeks, silence feels louder than any splash deal they could have made. Fans expected activity, even if it was not the blockbuster wide receiver move everyone dreams about. Instead, we saw a front office that chose to stand completely still.

No Additions and No Subtractions

Given how the season has played out, the Giants looked like a clear candidate to sell off a few struggling pieces. There were whispers around Russell Wilson. There were questions about whether Jaylin Hyatt, Evan Neal, or even Deonte Banks would be moved. None of it materialized. The Giants neither added talent nor cleaned up the roster, and that leaves plenty of frustration across Giants Nation.

The expectation was never that the team would chase a headline name. It was more about repositioning the roster, opening spots for younger players, and collecting future assets. Instead, the deadline passed quietly, and that lack of action raises real questions about the vision of this front office.

The One Piece That Truly Matters

The good news is the hardest piece of the puzzle is already solved. The Giants have their quarterback. Jaxson Dart is the real deal, and every week he continues to show why he was worth the investment. When you have your franchise quarterback, the future can still be bright. The next step is surrounding him with real talent, stability, and dependable playmakers.

Can This Regime Build Around Dart?

That is where the doubt creeps in. The Giants have been inconsistent when it comes to adding and developing offensive talent. The misses are starting to stack up, and patience is wearing thin. Dart deserves a roster that complements his skill set. Right now, he is carrying too much of the load. That should never be the case for a young quarterback.

The front office has decisions to make and a rising star they must protect at all costs. The opportunity is there, but trust in this regime is far from strong.

Rep The Team No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. For a moment, it looked like the Giants had finally pulled off a dramatic road win. Instead, the game ended as so many have in recent years — with another collapse.

Bad teams find ways to lose football games. That’s the reality facing the Giants right now. Since 2017, no team has a worse record. Now they sit at 0–2 for the tenth time in the last 13 seasons. What once looked like a turnaround under Brian Daboll has turned into frustration. Since starting 7–2 in his first year, the Giants are just 11–31–1.

A Moment of Hope

For most NFL teams, Russell Wilson’s late-game heroics would have been enough. With under half a minute to play, he connected with rookie sensation Malik Nabers for a miraculous touchdown. That put the Giants up 37–34 with 25 seconds left, a moment that should have sealed the win.

But the defense could not finish the job. Dak Prescott found tight end Jake Ferguson wide open over the middle for 18 yards. That single play put Dallas into long field goal range. Brandon Aubrey then drilled a 64-yarder as time expired, sending the game to overtime.

Overtime Breakdown

The Giants had all the momentum late in regulation, but they came out flat in overtime. The offense, which had been rolling in the fourth quarter, suddenly stalled. On their first possession, they punted.

Russell Wilson, who had been brilliant with 450 passing yards and three touchdowns, made his only critical mistake of the night. A miscommunication with Nabers led to an interception. The Cowboys quickly capitalized, with George Pickens making a big 27-yard grab to set up another Aubrey kick, this time from 46 yards, to win the game.

Costly Mistakes

It wasn’t just one play that doomed the Giants. Penalties were crushing. Fourteen flags for 160 yards gave the Cowboys too many chances. Add in defensive lapses, and it was a recipe for another loss.

Week one against Washington, it was the offense that sputtered. In week two, it was discipline and defense. Every week, something new seems to drag this team down.

What’s Next?

The Giants talked all offseason about how this year would be different. Yet two games in, it feels all too familiar. Another season is slipping away quickly, and the frustration is mounting. Unless something changes fast, this could be another long year for Big Blue.

Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. The offense had moments, but Washington controlled the flow from start to finish.

Russell Wilson made his Giants debut at quarterback, completing 17 of 37 passes for 168 yards while also scrambling for 44 yards. Still, the Giants never reached the end zone. Their only points came from two Graham Gano field goals.

Commanders Capitalize on Opportunities.

Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels was steady throughout the game. He threw for 233 yards and one touchdown while adding 68 rushing yards. Running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt added 82 yards and a score.

New Faces Shine for Washington.

Deebo Samuel made a strong debut with 77 receiving yards and later ran in a 19-yard touchdown to seal the win. The Giants’ defense struggled to keep pace with Washington’s playmakers, who delivered in key moments.

Giants Falter in the Red Zone.

One of the biggest issues for the Giants was failing to finish drives. Despite multiple trips inside the 5-yard line, the team came up empty in goal-to-go situations. That lack of execution put pressure on the defense and left valuable points on the field.

Injury Concerns.

The Giants also suffered a blow early in the game when linebacker Micah McFadden was carted off in the first quarter with a leg injury. His status moving forward will be critical for the defense.

Looking Ahead.

TThis marks the third straight season the Giants have opened with a game without scoring a touchdown. The Giants GM held a pre draft press conference, and if you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all. He’s polished, professional, and somehow manages to talk for 20 minutes without revealing much of anything.

Schoen says the Giants are “in a pretty good spot” and that they “have a process in place that we believe in.” That quote might sound familiar because it’s essentially a copy-and-paste from every other pre-draft media appearance he’s made since 2022.

Quarterback Talk… But No Urgency

Of course, the question came up—will the Giants draft a quarterback? Schoen’s answer: maybe. It’s “not mandatory,” thanks to the recent signings of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. He complimented the depth of the current class but made it clear they’ll only take one “if the board lines up.” In other words, the Giants won’t force it. Again, sounds familiar.

Leadership is important at the position, Schoen added. A quarterback needs to motivate and be the “face of the franchise.” That’s one of the few direct quotes that might raise eyebrows—but it’s still vague enough to apply to half the QBs in this draft.

Draft Strategy? Keep Guessing

Schoen confirmed the team has gotten calls about trading up and down. He said they’ll be “open to all options” and are willing to “run out the shot clock” next Thursday. As usual, it sounds like the Giants are ready for anything… or at least they want everyone to think that.

There’s also been no decision yet on the fifth-year options for Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal. Schoen says that will come after the draft. As for Neal, he’s apparently motivated and having a strong offseason.

Notes on Prospects, But No Commitments

The team is holding a medical meeting on Penn State’s Abdul Carter, but Schoen doesn’t expect any red flags. Meanwhile, Heisman winner Travis Hunter drew some attention for his rare ability to play both ways. Most experts agree there are only two to four quarterbacks with true first-round grades. But that doesn’t mean teams lacking stability under center can afford to sit back and wait.

A few big names stand out — Cam Ward (Miami), Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), and Jalen Milroe (Alabama) — as possible Day 1 picks. However, there are also intriguing Day 2 or 3 options, such as Kyle McCord (Syracuse) and Tyler Shough (Louisville), who could develop into solid pros with the right coaching and patience.

Let’s break down the teams that should seriously consider drafting a quarterback in 2025. Let’s start the list with the Giants — after all, this is a New York Giants blog.

New York Giants

The Giants are holding the No. 3 and No. 34 overall picks, and it’s hard to imagine they don’t at least consider drafting a quarterback — especially with uncertainty swirling around the futures of Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Tommy DeVito.

If Cam Ward, widely projected to be the first overall pick, is off the board to Tennessee, that leaves Shedeur Sanders as the next high-profile option. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if GM Joe Schoen and HC Brian Daboll decide to pass on Sanders. While he’s an exciting talent, questions remain about his fit and readiness for an NFL offense.

Instead, the Giants may opt to draft a blue-chip player at No. 3 — someone who can make an immediate impact — and then circle back for a quarterback at No. 34 or with a move up from that spot. If that’s the case, Jaxson Dart or Jalen Milroe become intriguing targets. Both are raw but have athletic upside and strong arms that Daboll might believe he can mold into long-term starters.

This strategy would be a gamble, but it also reflects the tightrope the Giants’ leadership is walking. Schoen and Daboll need to win now, but they also need a quarterback who can grow with the team. Dart or Milroe wouldn’t be expected to start right away, allowing the veterans to hold the fort while a young prospect develops behind the scenes.

With pressure mounting and the future uncertain, the Giants’ approach to the quarterback position could define this regime’s legacy — for better or worse.

Tennessee Titans

Will Levis hasn’t cemented himself, and their backups are over 30 with limited starts. Owning the No. 1 overall pick likely puts them in line for Cam Ward, a strong-armed, athletic option who could fit into their new offensive identity..

Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson’s injuries and inconsistency have left the Browns in limbo. Kenny Pickett hasn’t impressed, and while Joe Flacco is back, that’s not a long-term solution. With the second and 33rd picks, Cleveland is in a strong position to reset the quarterback room early in the draft.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are one Rodgers decision away from needing a new plan. Even if he signs, Pittsburgh’s long-term outlook isn’t secure with only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson behind him. A first-round developmental QB makes a lot of sense here.

New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr is under contract through 2026, but that doesn’t tell the full story. His salary spikes to $40 million in 2026 — and none of it is guaranteed. More pressing, however, is the shoulder injury he sustained late last season. While the team has been optimistic publicly, there’s growing concern that Carr’s recovery could impact his availability for the 2025 season.

Given that uncertainty, it makes sense for the Saints to consider drafting a quarterback — especially with a new head coach in Kellen Moore now leading the way. Taking one at No. 9 might be a stretch unless Shedeur Sanders falls into their lap.

New York Jets

The Jets should let Justin Fields sink or swim in 2025. Tyrod Taylor, 35, is a capable veteran. Unless a top prospect is sitting there at No. 7 or 42, drafting a QB doesn’t feel urgent — but this is the Jets we’re talking about.

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford, 37, is near the end, and Jimmy Garoppolo, 33, is a temporary backup. Stetson Bennett remains unproven after missing most of his rookie year. If a QB like Dart falls to them at 26, the Rams may finally invest in their future at the position.

Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith, now 35, is under contract through 2027, but he’s clearly a short-term bridge. The Raiders appear to view Aidan O’Connell as a backup. With Carter Bradley still unproven, a Day 2 option like Shough or McCord may be worth a look.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle handed Sam Darnold a sizable deal, but it’s not ironclad. They can move on next year if needed. With five picks in the top 92, GM John Schneider could easily take a swing if someone like Sanders drops to them. Their current backups, Sam Howell and Jaren Hall, are set to hit free agency next year.

Predicting the QB Market in the 2025 NFL Draft was originally published by Bleedbigblue.com.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. He’s absolutely right.

The Giants are in a strange place right now. They’ve added veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, which gives them short-term options at quarterback. But that doesn’t mean they should pass on the opportunity to plan for the future.

"If I could hand pick one team for Jalen Milroe, it would be the New York Giants. … This would be the perfect place for both the player and the organization." ✍️

—@danorlovsky7 on Alabama QB Jalen Milroe pic.twitter.com/7eCQAt55jF
— NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) April 8, 2025

Pick the Best Player at No. 3, Then Strike for Milroe.

With the third overall pick in the draft, the Giants should stick to their board and take the best player available—whether that’s a wide receiver, edge rusher, or offensive tackle. But that shouldn’t stop them from keeping an eye on Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.

Current mock drafts have Milroe as a late first- or second-round pick. That’s a range where the Giants could easily trade up or make a move, especially with the extra picks they have.

Milroe brings dynamic playmaking ability, speed, and leadership to the table. He’s raw but explosive, and learning behind two veterans could do wonders for his growth. If the Giants are truly thinking long-term, they need to get serious about developing a quarterback—and Milroe could be the answer.

Building for Now and the Future.

Let’s face it—the Giants’ front office is in a tough spot. They need to win right now, but they also need to prepare for what’s next. That’s rarely a good combo.

However, drafting Jalen Milroe would be a smart middle ground. He wouldn’t need to start right away, but he’d give the Giants a real shot at finding their quarterback of the future.

It’s time to take a swing. And Milroe might just be the perfect pitch.

New York Giants Must Plan Ahead with Jalen Milroe was originally published by Bleedbigblue.com.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. But here’s the headline — Dart has also spent “considerable time” with the New York Giants during this pre-draft process.

Sources: Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart visited today with the Cleveland Browns, and will next fly to Las Vegas to visit the Raiders, sources tell me and @FieldYates.

Dart also has spent “considerable time” during this interview process with the Giants, Saints and Rams. pic.twitter.com/M6rY1SLGkl
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 8, 2025

For those waiting for the Giants to make a smart gamble at quarterback, this is exciting news. The team already brought in veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason. Still, neither player is expected to be a long-term solution.

The Giants Should Roll the Dice in Round Two.

Let’s say Dart slips out of the first round. If he’s available when the Giants are on the clock in the second, they should strongly consider making the move. Dart brings the kind of upside that could pay off in a big way. He has the tools — arm strength, mobility, and confidence — that teams look for in a modern NFL quarterback.

Yes, there are other positions of need. But there’s no bigger need than a long-term answer at quarterback. Drafting Dart would give the Giants a developmental player to groom behind Wilson and Winston.

A Trade-Up Could Be Necessary.

That said, the Giants might not be able to sit back and wait. It’s widely believed that Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders will be off the board early, and that could spark a scramble among teams looking for the next best QB. If Dart starts rising, New York may need to trade up in the second round to secure him. With multiple teams in the market for a quarterback, waiting too long could mean missing out altogether.

Dart’s Skillset Fits the Giants’ Plan.

Dart thrived at Ole Miss, showing the ability to make throws on the run, manage tempo, and lead under pressure. He’s tough, smart, and mobile — a great match for what the Giants’ offensive scheme could look like moving forward.

If the Giants want to build a sustainable future, they need to think beyond 2025. Several teams are reportedly calling about a trade—including the New York Giants.

But before we start daydreaming about the Giants shaking up the draft, let’s keep it real. The Titans may be listening, but it doesn’t mean they’re ready to move down. Cam Ward remains the favorite to go first overall, and unless something wild happens, Tennessee will likely stick and pick.

The #Titans have not made a final decision yet for the No. 1 pick because there are multiple teams interested in a potential trade. One of those teams being the #Giants, per @CameronWolfe

Cam Ward is still the favorite, but everything is on the table 👀pic.twitter.com/v81ZFA3HTa
— SleeperTitans (@SleeperTitanUp) April 4, 2025

Giants Have Options—Even Without the Top Pick.

The Giants’ interest is real, but that doesn’t mean a blockbuster trade is coming. In fact, it probably won’t happen. The front office has done a smart job giving themselves some flexibility this offseason. By adding Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, Big Blue bought themselves a bit of breathing room.

These veteran quarterbacks don’t scream “long-term solution,” but they offer stability. That gives the Giants options later in the first round—or in future drafts—without feeling desperate.

All Eyes on Draft Night.

So while the Cam Ward buzz is strong and the Giants’ name is in the mix, fans shouldn’t expect fireworks with the top pick. Instead, keep your eyes on how the draft unfolds and who might slide within striking distance.

The Giants may not land Cam Ward—but that doesn’t mean they won’t come away with a quarterback they believe in.

New York Giants Eye Top Pick, But Unlikely was originally published by Bleedbigblue.com.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. The team announced updated jersey numbers on Wednesday, confirming that Wilson will keep the number he’s worn throughout his entire 13-year NFL career.

This move required some teamwork behind the scenes. Cornerback Deonte Banks, who previously wore No. 3, agreed to switch to No. 2 for the upcoming season. Banks had changed from No. 25 to No. 3 just last year, making this another quick turnaround for the young defensive back.

A Classy Gesture Between Teammates.

Russell Wilson didn’t waste any time expressing his gratitude to his new teammate. On social media, Wilson shared a heartfelt message for Banks:

“Salute to my guy & young star Tae Banks! Grateful for you letting me wear #3 King! Full of gratitude.”

It’s a classy exchange that shows respect between a seasoned veteran and a rising star. For Banks, it’s a small sacrifice for the team—and for Wilson, it’s a symbol of continuity as he begins this new chapter in New York.

Official Jerseys Now Available.

Giants fans can now get ready for kickoff in style. The official Russell Wilson No. 3 jerseys are available now on the Giants Shop. Whether you’re heading to MetLife Stadium or watching from home, it’s the perfect way to show your Big Blue pride and support the newest member of the squad.

Looking Ahead to the 2025 Season.

With Wilson set to lead the offense, Giants fans are hoping the familiar No. 3 brings some veteran magic to the field. His leadership and experience could be a key asset for a team looking to bounce back this season.

Banks, now in No. 2, is expected to continue growing into a key role in the Giants’ secondary. His selfless gesture already shows he’s a team-first kind of player—something fans will no doubt appreciate.

Russell Wilson to Wear No. 3 with the New York Giants was originally published by Bleedbigblue.com.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral. At 36 years old, Wilson brings leadership, experience, and championship pedigree to the Big Blue offense.

Over his 13-year NFL career, Wilson has started 199 regular-season games for the Seahawks, Broncos, and most recently, the Steelers. He holds a 121-77-1 record in the regular season and is 9-8 in the playoffs. That includes two Super Bowl appearances—and a dominant 43-8 win in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium.

Elite Career Numbers Speak for Themselves.

Wilson’s career passer rating of 99.8 ranks fifth in NFL history (minimum 1,500 attempts). He’s thrown 350 touchdown passes since entering the league in 2012, second-most during that span. Even more impressive? Wilson has posted a passer rating of 100.0 or higher in 101 regular-season games—more than any quarterback in that timeframe.

On the ground, Wilson is just as dangerous. He’s rushed for 5,462 yards and 31 touchdowns, making him the only quarterback in league history with over 40,000 passing yards and 5,000 rushing yards.

Resilient Comeback in 2024.

In 2024, Wilson missed the first six games due to injury but bounced back to start 12 straight games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, including a Wild Card Round appearance. It was yet another double-digit win season for a quarterback who has now done it nine times in his career.

A New Chapter in New York

Wilson is the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and a proven leader. His experience, poise, and ability to make plays with both his arm and legs give the Giants a real shot at turning things around this season.

Russell Wilson Signs with New York Giants was originally published by Bleedbigblue.com.

About Us.

BleedBigBlue.com burst onto the scene after a fiery social media rant about PSL’s and ticket prices went viral.
