Giants offensive lineman Shane Lemieux underwent surgery today to his left patellar tendon. The procedure was performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Lemieux is expected to miss the rest of the regular season.

There was on outside shot of a late season return for Shane Lemieux, regardless we wish him the best.

Shane Lemieux’s season is not ruled out just yet, a possible return is based on recommendations from the medical staff or possible future procedures as per Dan Duggan.

Asked if Shane Lemieux’s season is over, Judge said he can’t rule anything out. Judge said he’s hopeful Lemieux will return but asked about a potential surgery, Judge said Lemieux is talking with the doctors about “a couple procedures.”

Matt Peart will get some work at guard this week as per the Joe Judge presser.

Sounds like Matt Peart — who was the starting RT all preseason — will get some work at guard coming up. Nate Solder didn’t just win the RT battle. He won it by so much that Peart didn’t rotate in during Week 2 #Giants

Free agent center Austin Reiter is expected to visit with the #Giants in the coming days, per source. Two-year starter in Kansas City also met with #Texans and #Bengals as per @jfowlerespn.

With injuries to both & Shane Lemieux Matt Peart, the giants O-Line might need the extra, and fan’s questioned the depth of that unit.

Reiter played with the Chiefs for the past three seasons including 32 starts.

We” got Shane Lemieux, a guard out of Oregon. Every really good club that I have been with, the offensive line has set the tone. This is a tough kid who plays mad. He’s big, he’s powerful, he’s a pretty good athlete. We’re excited to add him to the mix.

Joe Judge on OL Shane Lemieux:
“Shane’s a guy like Dave said, he plays with nasty. You turn the Auburn game on and right from the first snap he’s tossing bodies around. You can’t help but watch him. In a lot of cross over tape he jumps out at you as well. He’s a guy that’s going to have interior swing value. We’re going to cross train him guard and center. It’s going to be something he has been working on out at Oregon and we’re going to keep on building with that as well.”
