The New York Giants selects Oklahoma State Cornerback Korie Black with the 246th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

With their final pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Oklahoma State cornerback Korie Black at No. 246 overall. Black stands 6 feet tall and weighs 192 pounds, bringing solid size and youth to the Giants’ secondary.

The Giants had already added key players like Abdul Carter, Jaxson Dart, Darius Alexander, Cam Skattebo, Marcus Mbow, and Thomas Fidone before rounding out their draft class with Black. His arrival adds more depth to the cornerback room and could help shore up the back end of the defense.

Korie Black’s Strong College Career

Black spent five years with the Cowboys, appearing in 62 games and making 38 starts. His final season in 2024 was impressive: he was voted a team captain, earned All-Big 12 honorable mention honors, and started all 12 games. He led his team with three interceptions, ranking eighth in the Big 12 and 53rd in the FBS.

In 2023, Black allowed just 16 receptions across more than 350 coverage snaps, ranking third among FBS cornerbacks per PFF. He also earned the title of OSU’s Defensive MVP against Central Arkansas, where he showed his all-around ability with a tackle for loss, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal.

Scouting Report Highlights.

According to ESPN, Black shows good recovery speed and the ability to make plays even when out of position. He has a knack for reaching around receivers to break up passes without drawing penalties. Although he doesn’t catch every ball he contests, he’s reliable at extending and plucking passes out of the air.

While Black wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine, he impressed at his pro day, showing off his athleticism. The Giants are hopeful that his instincts and competitive play will make him a valuable contributor.

The New York Giants selects Nebraska Tight End Thomas Fidone II with the 219th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

With the 219th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants added Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone II to their roster.

Fidone’s journey to the pros is one of resilience. After suffering two knee injuries early in his college career, he worked hard to rehab and earned a starting role for Nebraska over the past two seasons. Instead of returning for another year of eligibility, he made the bold decision to enter the NFL Draft.

Strong Academic and Athletic Background.

Fidone’s accomplishments extend beyond the football field. He was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team three years in a row (2022–2024) and earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll eight times. His work in the community also stands out, earning him spots on the Brook Berringer and Tom Osborne Citizenship Teams.

On the field, Fidone impressed scouts at the NFL Combine. His Relative Athletic Score (RAS) was an eye-popping 9.37 out of 10, ranking him 78th among 1,216 tight ends tested since 1987.

He even considered retesting at Nebraska’s Pro Day, simply because of his competitive spirit.

A Skill Set That Fits New York’s Future Plans.

Fidone finished the 2024 season with 373 receiving yards on 36 catches, following a 2023 season where he tallied 260 yards on 25 receptions. Scouts love his ability to run crisp routes, break cleanly, and contribute both as a blocker and a receiver.

As Fidone said, “A lot of teams like that I’m a more complete tight end.”

The Giants’ tight end room, featuring Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, Chris Manhertz, and Greg Dulcich, could see major changes after this season. Three are entering the final year of their contracts. This leaves Fidone with a clear path to more playing time in 2026 and beyond.

The future looks bright for this talented and hard-working young Giant.

The New York Giants selects Purdue Offensive Lineman Marcus Mbow with the 154th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

On the third day of the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants finally turned their attention to the offensive line. With the 154th pick, they selected Purdue’s Marcus Mbow, a 6-foot-4, 303-pound lineman who brings valuable experience and versatility.

Mbow spent four seasons at Purdue, appearing in 36 games with 32 starts between right guard and right tackle. His strong play earned him Second Team Freshman All-America honors in 2022 and three straight All-Big Ten Honorable Mentions from 2022 to 2024.

Although many expected him to be drafted earlier, Mbow found himself waiting longer than anticipated. He had gathered with family and friends for a draft party Friday night, but the third and fourth rounds came and went without his name being called. That setback only adds to the chip on his shoulder as he heads to the NFL.

Familiar Face for the Giants.

The Giants are already familiar with Mbow. They hosted him on a Top 30 visit and watched him closely during the Senior Bowl. Even more interesting, he once blocked for one of their own — running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who was a Giants draft pick last year. The two were teammates at Purdue in 2022 and 2023, creating a natural connection heading into training camp.

Opportunity to Compete Right Away.

The Giants have talked about moving Evan Neal to guard this season, opening the door for Mbow to battle for a role on the right side. His top competition will be veteran Greg Van Roten, who re-signed in free agency. With his background and drive, Mbow will have every chance to make an early impact.

The New York Giants selects Arizona State Running Back Cam Skattebo with the 105th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

The New York Giants continue reshaping their offense, selecting Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo with the 105th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Known for his fearless, physical style, Skattebo is ready to bring a new edge to New York’s backfield.

At 219 pounds, Skattebo was a standout at Arizona State, never shying away from contact and always running with determination. His bruising style makes him an immediate tone-setter, perfect for the hard-nosed identity the Giants are building.

More Than Just Power

While Skattebo is definitely a powerful runner, he’s far more than just a short-yardage option. Last season, he showed off his versatility by catching 45 passes for over 600 receiving yards. His strong hands and smart route running make him a real threat in the passing game, too.

Skattebo’s all-around skill set will blend nicely with fellow running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., who brings more of a shiftier, speed-based approach. Together, they could form a dynamic and balanced one-two punch that keeps defenses guessing.

Ready to Make His Mark

Coming into the NFL with something to prove, Skattebo’s fearless attitude and versatile play style fit exactly what the Giants need. As the team continues to rebuild and reload, adding a player like Skattebo shows a clear commitment to toughness, energy, and smart football.

Giants fans have every reason to be excited about this pick. Cam Skattebo looks ready to leave it all on the field and make a name for himself in New York.

The New York Giants selects Toledo Defensive Tackle Darius Alexander with the 65th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

New York Giants Continue to Build Their Defense.

With the 65th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants added another important piece to their defense. They selected defensive lineman Darius Alexander from Toledo, a move that strengthens the front next to star Dexter Lawrence.

The Giants have spent a lot of time and money improving their defense this offseason. After upgrading the secondary in free agency and selecting Abdul Carter with the third overall pick, the defensive tackle spot remained the biggest need. Now, the Giants hope Alexander can fill that role.

A Perfect Fit Next to Dexter Lawrence.

At 6-foot-4 and 307 pounds, Alexander brings size, power, and athleticism to the defensive line. His playing style reminds scouts of former Giant Leonard Williams. Like Williams, Alexander has a rare mix of length, strength, and versatility.

In fact, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler noted that some of Alexander’s best plays looked just like Williams in his prime. Alexander is known for being a disruptive force, and the Giants believe he can thrive alongside Lawrence in their multiple-front defense.

A Late Bloomer with High Upside.

It took Alexander a few years to fully develop his game at Toledo, but his best football showed up late in his college career. At 23-24 years old, he impressed during the final stretch of the season and stood out at the Senior Bowl.

One of the most exciting parts of Alexander’s game is his athleticism. Despite weighing over 300 pounds, he even played 113 snaps at outside linebacker! That rare ability to move across the line gives the Giants more options up front.

Overall, Darius Alexander looks like a strong addition to a defense that is quickly becoming the strength of the team.

The New York Giants selects Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart with the 25th overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

Giants Make Bold Move to Land Jaxson Dart.

The New York Giants made headlines on draft night by pulling off a major trade with the Houston Texans to move back into the first round. With the 25th overall pick, they selected quarterback Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss — a player they had been eyeing for quite some time.

Earlier in the evening, the Giants opened their 2025 NFL Draft class by taking All-American edge rusher Abdul Carter out of Penn State. Then, as the draft approached the 20s, General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll began working the phones from their Draft Room. Eventually, they secured a deal with Houston that brought them the 25th pick.

In return, the Giants sent the Texans the 34th and 99th picks in this year’s draft, plus a third-round selection in 2026.

Why the Giants Wanted Jaxson Dart.

Dart arrives in New York as Ole Miss’ all-time leader in passing yards — a record previously held by none other than Eli Manning. The Giants believe he has the tools to thrive at the next level.

“He’s got a lot of the qualities you look for,” said Daboll. “Tough, smart, athletic, and he’s played in a tough conference.”

Schoen added that the evaluation process for quarterbacks began last May. “We’re fired up to have Jaxson Dart as part of this organization,” he said.

What’s Next for the Giants.

After the trade, the Giants have five picks remaining in the draft:

No. 65 (Round 3)

No. 105 (Round 4)

No. 154 (Round 5)

No. 219 (Round 7)

No. 246 (Round 7)

With their new quarterback on board and a pass rusher already in place, Big Blue is off to a strong start.

The New York Giants selects Penn State Edge Abdul Carter with the 3rd overall pick in 2025 NFL draft.

The New York Giants got stronger on Thursday night. With the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the team selected Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.

Carter arrives with serious credentials. He was a Unanimous All-American and the 2024 Nagurski-Woodson Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He becomes just the 15th player in Penn State history to earn that unanimous All-American honor.

He now joins a talented defensive front that includes Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. His explosiveness off the edge could make this one of the most dangerous pass-rushing units in the NFL.

Schoen and Daboll Praise the Pick.

General manager Joe Schoen couldn’t be happier.
“We’re really excited about adding another pass rusher to the organization,” Schoen said. “We spent a lot of time with him, and we’ve been in constant communication. We feel good about where he is physically—he’s been running and working out. We’re not worried about the foot at this point.”

Head coach Brian Daboll echoed that excitement.
“He’s got great quickness and bend. He’s hard to block,” Daboll said. “He played off the ball before, so he’s got strong instincts and football IQ. We had a great meeting with him, and it was fun to evaluate him. From an offensive perspective, you think about what you’d have to do to stop a guy like that.”

What Carter Brings to the Giants.

Abdul Carter brings versatility and power to a defense that’s already stacked. His ability to play both on and off the ball gives defensive coordinator Shane Bowen new ways to attack offenses. Look for Carter to make an immediate impact as a rookie in 2025.

All Eyes on the Giants Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is tomorrow, and the New York Giants are officially on the clock with the third overall pick. General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll are both firmly on the hot seat. This selection isn’t just about the team’s future—it could decide their own.

As a New York Giants fan and blogger who is excited about this moment, I’m laying out my top three candidates and a couple of trade scenarios worth watching.

Top 3 Options for Big Blue

Abdul Carter – LB/EDGE, Penn State

Abdul Carter brings relentless energy and a natural ability to disrupt plays off the edge. He’s a high-motor defender who consistently finds his way into the backfield. Adding Carter to a group that already features Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux on the outside—and Dexter Lawrence II dominating on the interior—would give the Giants one of the most imposing defensive fronts in the league. It’s the kind of move that could reshape the defense and make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks. In today’s NFL, you can never have too many pass rushers.

Travis Hunter – CB/WR, Colorado

Travis Hunter is the most intriguing two-way player in the draft. The Giants have needs at both wide receiver and cornerback, and Hunter is uniquely qualified to help at both spots. On offense, he’d be an ideal complement to Malik Nabers—forming a dangerous duo that could challenge any secondary. Defensively, Hunter brings the shutdown ability the Giants have been missing. Paulson Adebo, signed this offseason, hasn’t yet proven he can be that true No. 1 corner. Hunter has the talent to be just that, and experts believe he could reach Pro Bowl level on either side of the ball. He’s the kind of playmaker that instantly raises a team’s ceiling.

Shedeur Sanders – QB, Colorado

The Giants have done extensive work on Shedeur Sanders, meeting with him multiple times this offseason. Both John Mara and Joe Schoen have been clear—the search for a franchise quarterback is the top priority. Sanders is widely considered the second-best quarterback in the 2025 draft behind Miami’s Cam Ward. He’s a poised pocket passer with a sharp football IQ who remains calm under pressure and embraces big moments. He welcomes the limelight—something not every QB can handle in New York. With veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston on board, Sanders would have time to develop before taking over the huddle. It’s a smart long-term investment if the Giants believe he’s their guy.

Trade Scenarios to Watch

Trading Up

So far, it’s been quiet on the trade-up front. The Titans appear locked in on selecting Cam Ward, and there’s been little noise about the Giants jumping ahead of them. The market just doesn’t seem hot for a move up right now.

Trading Down

There have been whispers that the Giants have fielded calls about moving down. But unless a deal blows them away, I’m staying put. With so much riding on this pick, it’s time to plant the flag and choose the future.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. And if you’re gearing up for a fresh season, there’s no better way than with the just-released Russell Wilson New York Giants jersey.

As the NFL Draft approaches, the New York Giants remain one of the more intriguing teams to watch. Connor Hughes of SNY recently reported that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is firmly on the Giants’ radar. According to Hughes, head coach Brian Daboll is especially high on Dart—ranking him just behind Cam Ward among potential QB options.

Is Jaxson Dart a Sneaky Trade-Up Target?

Hughes shared, “Jaxson Dart is a name to watch for the Giants as a trade-up option on Thursday…he’s someone Brian Daboll is high on — most out of QBs other than Cam Ward…Dart has that [toughness].”

That toughness could make Dart an ideal fit in Daboll’s offense, which demands poise under pressure and the ability to fight through adversity.

Trade-Up Talk Brings Questions

Of course, trading up comes at a price. The Giants would need to part with valuable draft capital to move into a spot where Dart might be available—likely in the middle or back end of the first round. That raises a critical question: is it worth it?

Personally, I’m a fan of Jaxson Dart. His arm talent, leadership, and ability to take hits and bounce back make him a great developmental option. But ideally, the Giants could land him in the second round without sacrificing key assets. That may be wishful thinking given how QB-needy teams are lining up this year.

No More Buzz Around Shedeur Sanders

Back in December, there was plenty of hype connecting Shedeur Sanders to the Giants. That talk has now cooled significantly. According to Hughes, “There’s not much out there right now connecting Shedeur Sanders to Giants. That hype has cooled dramatically.”

Could this be a strategic smokescreen? It’s possible. Teams often throw up distractions ahead of the draft. But for now, the Sanders-Giants link seems to have faded, leaving players like Dart and Ward as more realistic targets.

🛍️ Rep the Team, No Matter What!

Even through the ups and downs, we bleed blue. And if you’re gearing up for a fresh season, there’s no better way than with the just-released Russell Wilson New York Giants jersey.

Giants Fans Sound Off on Draft Day Dreams and Dilemmas.

Yesterday, I hosted another great Q&A session across both Instagram and Facebook, and the responses were incredible. Two names dominated the discussion: Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter. Let’s break down the most frequently asked questions and some standout comments.

Why Abdul Carter Makes Sense.

Many of you wanted to know: Who’s better, Carter or Hunter? The truth is, I like both. But Abdul Carter could be a game-changer for our defense. You can never have too many pass rushers—especially after years of watching “bend but don’t break” defenses.

“With Carter, even Kayvon will look good… You can’t block Sexy, Carter, Burns, and Kayvon. You put the QB on his back, force interceptions, get field position, and score points.”

– Jimmy on Facebook

Imagine that front—offensive lines won’t stand a chance.

The Case for Travis Hunter.

Now let’s talk Travis Hunter. His talent is off the charts, and the fact that he wants to play both wide receiver and cornerback at the NFL level is wild. From what I’m hearing, the Giants are open to it.

He’ll likely be a CB first, but imagine him in 3-WR sets. That would be must-watch football.

“Hunter all day. If we have a strong secondary, that makes our current pass rushers even better.”

– Joseph on Facbook

And he’s right—coverage and pressure go hand in hand.

Dart vs. Milroe: Which QB Fits?

Another hot topic: Jaxon Dart vs. Jalen Milroe. Some of you think the Giants would need to trade up for either. Others believe they’re second-round projects.

I personally like Dart just a bit more—big arm, mobile, tough. But if Milroe develops like Lamar Jackson? Watch out.

“The thing is… you can’t trade up for him, then sit him. If you’re gonna give up that capital, he’s gotta be playing Week 1. You’re essentially giving up a chance at 3 players to just get 1 if we trade up, so he better be starter material.”

– Vic on Bleed Big Blue Nation

Hard to argue with that logic. The cost to move up is steep—so the return better be worth it.

Drama During Draft Day.

While I love all the buzz and wild scenarios surrounding draft day, I’m not expecting the New York Giants to pull off some big surprise. It’s fun to speculate about potential trades, but I think the team will mostly stick to their strategy and address their needs in a calculated way. That said, there’s always the possibility of a trade that could completely shake things up. And that potential? Yeah, it’s definitely keeping me on my toes.

Keep the Comments Coming!

Thanks again for all the interaction on both Instagram and Facebook. These Q&As are a great way to keep the conversation going. Keep the questions and hot takes coming—I’ll keep sharing them here!
