Ishaq Williams signs with Giants, starts comeback journey.
Brooklyn’s own Ishaq Williams DE / LB who played for Lincoln high school in Coney Island received a second chance for his professional football goal.
Williams, who has played little since 2013 / 2014 in which he was suspended indefinitely from Notre Dame for “academic dishonesty” made good on his mini camp tryout.
“Towards the beginning of the whole situation I thought I might be done,” Williams said on Friday, after his tryout started. “But my family and friends stood by me and told me to keep going. And I started to get my second wind and decided ‘Hey, I might as well give my all.’ I’ve been doing this since I was seven years old, so I might as well just give it a try.”
Williams appears to have his priorities in order, he has maintained his scholarship during the academic investigation, and is close to graduating. Now his football life received a new boost of energy and hopefully he can eventually reach the final roster.
