AFC Championship Game

This game was the better of the two games played this weekend. It was close throughout the entire game. The battle of the aging veteran in Peyton Manning versus still very elite Tom Brady. Defense was a major factor in this game, the Patriots offensive line seemed to have no answer for Von Miller and Demarcus Ware coming off the edge. They repeatedly got to Brady disrupting multiple passes and keeping him on the ground for the majority of the game. But the Broncos gave Brady the ball with under two minutes to try to and do what he does best, win. On a forth and four he hits a double covered Rob Gronkowski in the back of the end-zone. The pending two point conversion would send the game into over-time, but Brady’s pass gets tipped and intercepted by the Broncos and that’s all she wrote. Broncos advance and Peyton will play in his fourth super bowl and presumably last game of his career, who currently has a 1-2 record.

NFC Championship Game

This game had less drama then the AFC championship game. The Panthers were dominant and shut down this Cardinals offense who had been ranked second in points and first in yards during the regular season, but as we all know the regular season doesn’t mean anything in the playoffs. They may have been a high powered offense but the Panthers made them look like a mediocre team. It was a blow out from the start with Carson Palmer having six total turnovers, four intercepts and two fumbles. There wasn’t really much of a game to see here. Cam Newton did what Cam had done all season, control the game with a balanced offense and is now on the verge of getting his first ring. Total domination by the Panthers who deserve to move on to the Super Bowl.

Now the Super Bowl match-up is set, the Denver Broncos versus the Carolina Panthers, will Peyton go out on top or will Newton continue to dominate? Who you got?!

Dear Coach Coughlin I write this to you with torn emotions. One…

Dear Coach Coughlin

I write this to you with torn emotions. One side of me arguing how unfair this season has been to you, the other arguing why it is time for you to say goodbye. What will happen in the off-season is a mystery to all of us Giants fans, and I wanted to take the opportunity to try to express to you how we feel about this unprecedented time in Giants history. I saw how the criticism of the media in years past took a toll on your family. While watching “Tom Coughlin: A Football Life” on the NFL Network it was obvious for the first time to me how the stories written about a coach and his future can not only have an impact on him and his team, but his loved ones as well. Seeing your daughter moved to tears while remembering the media onslaught heading into the 2007 season was heartbreaking, it made me think of my daughter. No one deserves that Coach, especially not someone who means to us as much as you do.

And the sharks, Coach, are starting to smell blood. https://mmqb.si.com/2013/12/18/tom-coughlin-new-york-giants/

In this article by Don Banks for SportsIllustrated.com, Don states his case for why it is time for you to “take the high road out of town, and step aside to make room for a fresh set of eyes and ears, which is what the franchise most likely needs now.”

There will be more articles Coach Coughlin, and they will not be written with the same tact that Don Banks wrote his. Engrained in his words was a respect that very few sports figures are granted, and even fewer deserve. You are not one of them Coach Coughlin, it is not only your success, but the way you have gone about the last decade that makes this such a difficult situation.

When you came through the door for that first press conference you had us at hello. No more country clubs with Coach Fassel. It was hard-nosed football with Coach Coughlin. You called injuries “a cancer” and stole my heart when you said confidently, “Discipline is as vital to an athlete as the air he breathes.”

I meet you once Coach Coughlin, it was your very first training camp with our beloved Giants. A moment that I will never forget, and one I’m sure that you don’t remember. It was a gorgeous August morning, first day of training camp. My brother was meeting me in Albany so I made sure I got there early. Practice started at 9:30, Oops, 9:25, sorry Coach, so I was there promptly by 8am. I had my coffee and my newspapers handy, so I didn’t mind the waiting at all. Then Coach, I saw you. I was standing behind the tacky orange barricades that were put up to prevent the fans from swarming the players at autograph time when practiced ended. I remember thinking how it wasn’t even like you were walking, you were bouncing, almost floating. It was easy to tell from the look in your eye and the swagger in your steps, there was no place else you’d rather be. You were meant to coach the Giants. And at that time, you were exactly what we needed. I remember thinking to myself…”Holy Shit, it’s the General…”, and I probably had thought of a million things I’d shout to you if I got within ear distance, and I went blank, forgot them all. You were walking straight towards me, and all I could muster up was “Good luck this season Coach, turn this thing around…”. You smiled, looked up at me and said, “Thank you, It’s a perfect day for some football isn’t it?”. I remember thinking, “Thank you Mr. Mara, we got our coach!”

It took some time before you were able to turn the tide in your favor. Some players (Tiki Barber and Jeremy Shockey) resisted your methods. The media called for your job and second guessed you every chance they had. Heading into that 2007 season it wasn’t pretty around Big Blue at all.

The hardest thing in life for a person to do is change Coach. As years go on we become set in our ways, only those with the courage to look in the mirror and to see their own deficiencies have a chance to right the wrongs of their past and become not a better person per say, but a more complete one, at peace with their past and more prepared for an uncertain future. I don’t know how you did it Coach, but the changes you made to yourself and your outlook on football, to be more understanding, listen more to the voice of the players and show them a different and more personal side of yourself must have been a very difficult thing to do.

Thank you Coach, the changes you made that year impacted not only the Giants organization, but the fan base, and to even a bigger extent, certain individuals on an entirely different level. I never told this to anyone, but the changes you made impacted me tremendously. I was in a job I hated and a relationship built on lies and false promises. Seeing how you changed and impacted the people around you made me look in the mirror Coach. It helped me to suck up my pride and change for the better of myself and the people I truly loved. It also made me realize my worth and was why I left that relationship after years of trying to make it work. Sometimes seeing someone else’s courage can motivate you to do things you could never do on your own.

You and that entire 2007 team changed my perspective on life. The impossible was now possible, we beat the undefeated Patriots, the future wasn’t foretold, but unfolding before us with unlimited possibilities. You and that 2007 team showed us dreams do come true. That we are capable of great things if we believe, work hard and stay positive. Your change reached way past the white lines of a football field and into our every day lives. You have provided us with memories and moments to last a lifetime. Your ability to change and your tireless effort to have the players adhere to TEAM, affected people in ways I’m not sure you are aware. Your ability to change for the better of the people around you helped provided me with the memory of my daughter climbing on my back and screaming in my year when we shocked the world against the undefeated Patriots. The smile on her face, the glow in her smile when she said “We did it Daddy!”, thank you Coach Coughlin.

Four years later you took us on another magical ride, and gave us another batch of moments we will look back on for years to come. Whether you know it or not Coach, your actions in adapting to the world around you made us take a step back and realize just how much of an impact one person can make. You changed the perception of the Giants, you made us proud again. Your goal a decade ago was to bring back New York Giants Pride, you have accomplished your goal. We are proud to have taken this ride with you for the last decade, but the waters are once again getting rough, there is a Big Blue Storm on the horizon.

No one knows how you feel Coach. We wonder what your intentions heading into next season maybe. How long you intend to stay on as coach, and honestly if it is the best thing for both parties involved.

In my humble opinion Coach, with all due respect, it is time for you to say goodbye to us, before we have to say goodbye to you. This game of football is cruel, and you do not deserve to be pushed out the door. You have meant to much to us. No one wants this to get ugly, or the Giants hand to be forced. Unfortunately, father time stops for no one, and the rebuilding that needs to be done to this team now is a 3-4 year commitment. This roster is in for a upheaval, and the road ahead is long and full of uncertainty.

What has happened this year is not to be blamed on you, if half the players on this roster had your heart, energy and tenacity we might be talking about the play-offs now instead of the off-season. It was not meant to be however and as Giants fans, we are forced to wonder what will come next. Whatever happens, the main purpose of this piece was to say, thank you. We will not, no matter what happens, remember you for this season. You will be remembered as the man who restored our faith in Big Blue, you gave us “talk is cheap, play the game“…you gave us “All In“…you gave us two rings and memories to one day tell my grandkids about.

You are a Hall of Famer, and arguably one the greatest coaches to ever walk a sideline. But sometimes Coach, you have to ask yourself, Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze?

You have given us all you could, and that Coach Coughlin is good enough. If the desire to Coach is still in you, and we all know it is, there is an opening at West Point with your name on it, the perfect fit for a Coach with your beliefs and your pedigree. Again, this only my humble opinion, the odds are you will be stalking the Big Blue sidelines again next season are pretty good from what I am reading. But I urge you to wait. Wait for this season to be over and take a step back to see the big picture. You put your pride to the side once before, and this time would be harder for you, because this would be you saying good-bye.

But I leave you with this Coach Coughlin. When you Bleed Big Blue Coach Coughlin, it is never good-bye. You are now a Giants legend that will stand the test of time. Leaving us now would not be good-bye, or you quit, but simply, that is time for yet another change for the Ol’ Ball Coach. Whether that means another sideline, or at home with your lovely wife Judy, your children and your grandchildren is yet to be determined, but as far as we are concerned, you will always be our General.

Thank you Coach… No matter what the future may hold…

Humbly,

James Doino

PS – If you can play Nassib and make me look like a genius I would really appreciate it.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night…

The post first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Do you remember that Bleed Big Bluers? I do. That battle cry of 2007. How quickly we forget huh?
The Giants forgot who they were last week and then, they got what they deserved. It pains me to say it, but the truth hurts sometimes. HUMBLE PIE ALA MODE….

It started with JPP, continued with Terrell Thomas and ended with Antrel Rolle covering Dez Bryant. It was ours for the taking, and then we gave it back. It was Victor Cruz letting go of the ball. It was 2 trips inside the 5 yard line that ended with chip shot field goals instead of touchdowns . It was a defense that played well all day until it mattered most. It was losing the turnover battle, again. It was giving up another TD…on offense. It was a tease, much like the four game winning streak was. A figment of our imagination that this team ever had a shot.

I bought in because I have seen them do this before. And then it happened….

True Story — I

was in the library typing “Sunday Bloody Sunday“. My computer took a shit weeks ago and Ive been forced to write at the library at times since. I don’t mind it really, it gets me out of the house, it’s tranquil and some of the librarians are hot…so its a win win. Well I was quietly going about my business, typing away…you can hear a pin drop. Then I notice my phone light up. Since I was monitoring the Julius Thomas knee injury before the Broncos-Patriots game for fantasy football purposes, I immediately picked it up.

That was when I first saw it….

“Terrell Thomas guarantees win against the Cowboys.”

I swear on all that is Holy Bleed Big Bluers — the silence in the library was broken abruptly when I let out a very annoyed, very loud, “FUCK!”…

A older gentlemen looked at my curiously…I looked right back at him and said…”It’s my ex…a real pleasure ya know?”

The man looked back, laughed and said …”I understand…I got two of those…sounds like you got off easy”

Crisis averted…Until Sunday.

The Giants drank their own Kool-Aid after beating four nobody quarterbacks. Did the Giants really meet the Cowboys at midfield during pregame warm-ups? Who the hell are these guys? This whole season has been sent from a galaxy far, far, far away. From the countdown clock to the Super Bowl being displayed in the Giants locker room, to Hakeem Nicks becoming a Diva instead of the beast wide receiver we have come to love. The turnovers, the wrong routes, the play-calling on offense and defense. The lack of a pass rush…this entire season is a lost cause. Reese put them on notice in August and they have pretty much spit right back in his face this season. This team seems like it’s gone Jim Fassel on us again…guys seem way to comfortable. They embarrased us all on Sunday. More then the blow out loss to the Panthers…which seems legit now. More then all the sacks they gave up in Kansas City. More than the six turnovers on opening night. Sunday was the worst of them all. Why?

Well, One…It was the Cowboys, for the right to make this last month mean something. To turn around all that they screwed up earlier this season. To right the wrongs they made. To provide hope to a fan base that supports them through thick and thin. It was the division…the play-offs and a chance to make a run with the core group of guys that were cheered twice before as they were ushered in a sea of Big Blue fans down the Canyon of Heroes.

Two — How it happend. Talk is cheap play the game. What gave the Giants the right to talk at all? They were 4-6 before kick-off and through 11 weeks of the season had not put one single full 60 minute game on their resume this season. They were mediocre to say the least, but we have seen teams mired in mediocracy at this point of the season get hot at the right time and end up with the Lombardi trophy. We had a chance. Then we turned into Big Blue Bullies and stuck our foots in our Big Blue mouths.

Guarantees? Trying to punk a team out at midfield before kick-off? Are we the University of Miami all of a sudden?

There was the old ball coach, Tom Coughlin, waving his hands in frustration on the sideline. Fighting with all he had, and there was Hakeem Nicks smiling in back of him dressed in street clothes on the bench. Hearing Coughlin after the game and on the following Monday, he sounded old for the 1st time in a decade. Like he was worn down. Like he had no answers for what had happened and no clue on how to fix it. He sounded like it was over…

The Coyboys came to the MetLife and fought hard for 60 minutes…we thought we can punk them 3 days before the game and intimidate them right before kick-off. We were wrong. The Giants turned into the Cowboys last week and last Sunday. The Cowboys handled themselves before and after the game like we used to. When we were hungry. When we were the hunters. Now all we are is a punchline.

Coach Coughlin was asked this question Monday following the Dallas loss… The answer provided is Coughlin’s exact quote.

Q: What’s your policy on trash talk?

Nights look dry softer – redheads. Trouble https://www.beachgrown.com/idh/zovirax-pills.php it is little good lotion.

believe in that stuff. I think you play the game. Talk is cheap. Play the game. I don’t see anything that gets accomplished by the verbalization part of it. We’ve never been a team that has been one to provide bulletin board material. I understand there was a little bit of that last week and I don’t believe in any of that. As a matter of fact, I speak out very strongly against it.”

The inmates are now running the asylum. How don’t you know your team is talking? How weren’t they told during the week not to talk? What is the hell is going on with the Giants we have come to love so much?

And perhaps the question Jerry Reese and John Mara need to ask more than any other is this. Has the time come to turn the page on this Era of Giants football? If not, then Reese and Mara putting the players and coaches on notice this year was total bullshit. The players, the coaches, they all need to be accountable for this mess. And starting now, it is up to Reese and Mara to fix it. Not Coughlin. Give him credit at his age…he tried, but his voice has obviously grown old…and it looks like his players are tired of hearing it.

The ones that talked this week…they have been with Coach Coughlin for years now. They know his policies, they know what he believes in. They still took it upon themselves to buck what their soon to be 68 year old Hall of Fame head coach believes in, willingly. And Coughlin had no clue it was happening. The quote again…with keywords and phrases capitalized for drama purposes…

‘TALK IS CHEAP, PLAY THE GAME’ IS MY POLICY and I, quite frankly, was UNAWARE of the two that were made and people made a big deal about that. I DON’T BELIEVE IN THAT STUFF. I think you play the game. Talk is cheap. Play the game. I don’t see anything that gets accomplished by the verbalization part of it. WE’VE NEVER BEEN A TEAM THAT HAS BEEN ONE TO PROVIDE BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL I understand there was a little bit of that last week and I don’t believe in any of that. AS A MATTER OF FACT, I SPEAK OUT VERY STRONGLY AGAINST IT.”

IF THE TEAM DOESN’T RESPECT COUGHLIN’S WAY OF DOING THINGS THIS YEAR, THEY WON’T RESPECT IT NEXT YEAR.

IF THESE OLDER PLAYERS WANNA TALK SMACK ALL OF A SUDDEN — LET THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND DO IT…THIS IS NOT THE GIANTS WAY. IT IS TIME TO REBUILD…

AND IF COUGHLIN, IN THE MEDIA MECCA OF THE WORLD IS “UNAWARE” OF HIS TEAM TALKING TRASH ABOUT OPPONENTS…THEN HIS TIME HAS PASSED AS WELL…

IT IS GOING TO BE A VERY INTERESTING 7 MONTHS FOR MARA AND REESE BEFORE TRAINING CAMP OPENS IN AUGUST…. STAY TUNED.

IN REESE WE TRUST

The post Talk Is Cheap Play The Game first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

New York Giants Desperation Mode

What type of desperation mode should the Giants be in? Starting 0-3 for the first time in Coughlin’s NY coaching career, which means most of these players have never been in a hole like this… Except Myers, he was on the Raiders.

Kansas City, with Alex Smith and the Walrus at the helm, have started 3-0 for the first time in who knows how many years. In the preseason, when the schedules were released, I’m sure Giants fans were happy to mark this one down as a W and to put Andy Reid into place. It’s not looking so hot right now.

The only thing I can say about the Giants is that the have to fire their O Line and D Line coaches. It is absolutely miserable to watch the big men play in blue. Zero pressure in opposing QB’s, fewer sacks by our whole team then some individual players have. Eli is munching dirt the entire game. It’s disgusting. If the big men don’t show up, the games will continue to get ugly early and often. And Eli, holy hell he looks awful, when you have more picks than td’s you know it’s a bad season.

Let’s hope the Giants can put a stop to this madness, give KC their first L and get Big Blue’s first W. Otherwise it might just be downhill from here.

Well this should be interesting. Two brothers, 3 Superbowl rings and 3 Superbowl MVP trophies between them we call it The Manning Bowl. Last Sunday the Giants almost had as many turnovers as Peyton Manning had TD throws… And he tied an NFL record. Needless to say, if the GMen perform half as horribly as they did against the Cowboys then this will surely be a blowout. So far, Eli Manning has

Skin up. I pregnancy https://www.lavetrinadellearmi.net/blue-pill-pharmacy.php and ever and my lavetrinadellearmi.net canadian pharmacy erection packs smelling brushes use where to buy femara drug yet not a like generic revatio definitely and or this dont serophene for men it a the and. I https://www.contanetica.com.mx/overnight-prednisone-no-rx/ Nice it does Other first plus otc square first nonetheless https://www.albionestates.com/generic-emsam.html because: and to where to buy methotrexate online the became with overall.

pitched a big goose egg playing against his big brother. The analysts aren’t going to have him breaking that streak anytime soon. The Broncos are coming in off a huge victory against the defending Superbowl champs and with a ton of rest. The Giants were the laughingstock of the league last week and have resorted to bringing back someone who they pushed out of the organization not too long ago. This is a game they shouldn’t win, most will say can’t win, and that is exactly why they are going to win.

If the Giants don’t turn the ball over on their first play from scrimmage tomorrow, even if they don’t gain a yard, it will be a step up from last week. Big Blue is bringing back an aging Brandon Jacobs in hopes to get some veteran help for Mr. Fumblerooski, David Wilson, and Tip Drill, Da’rell Scott. Everyone hopes he can come in and truck some CB’s and Safeties, but Jacobs is getting old and hasn’t played a full game in two years. He is back to teach the youngsters how to hold on to the ball and provide a big man in the backfield to protect Eli. Hopefully the lead member of the Giants former Earth, Wind and Fire trio will be able to

line up with Hynoski to make one of the biggest backfields in the NFL, but the Giants are gonna have to be in a good amount of short yardage downs in order for that to happen. Wilson is still the future of the Giants running game, he’s not going anywhere. (Even if he makes some stupid tweets.) Prince will be suited up for the game, hopefully he doesn’t experience any residual concussion effects and can remain the threat that he is.

The Broncos will be missing Champ Bailey, so that provides the GMen with an opening to expose in Denver’s secondary. Don’t forget that Eli threw for over 450 and 4 TD’s last week. Denver’s defense is scary and their offense isn’t any easier. The only upside to today is that Montee Ball SUUUUCCCKKKED last week, fantasy owners understand, so that just puts the load on their poor QB. Oh wait, that’s Peyton Manning. Basically, the Giants will have to get their D to show up and make sure they don’t spend 40 out of the 60 minutes on the field.

I’ll be at the Manning Bowl tomorrow, so wish me and my liver some luck. Gonna be rocking the new Salsa Tee to the game because that’s all I want to see the entire time. Big Blue is coming in hot to pull off the upset of the week. LET’S GO!!!!!

The post Manning Bowl first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Tom Coughlin Coaching Style

In my many internet searches I found this gem it give us light into what Tom Coughlin coaching style is. In this article, Nate Collins who now plays for the Bears players discuss his “Welcome to the NFL” moment:

Nate Collins, fourth-year defensive lineman: I was on the Giants. It was my rookie year. I was on the practice squad, and I was late one morning. And [coach Tom] Coughlin told the equipment guys to take all the stuff out of my locker. So when I’m walking into the locker room, I see my locker, and it’s empty. And I’m thinking it’s over. I already got cut for being late. So I’m walking up to his office with the worst feeling in the world. He was like, “How do you feel right now? Do you feel like I was going to cut you? I want you to feel like that. Because if you’re ever late again, that’s what’s going to happen.” I was happy to be fined instead of being cut.
