Dave Gettleman’s Batting Average. Will Dave Gettleman Be On The Hot Seat Next Year?

Some have mistakenly placed the blame on Dave Gettleman regarding DeAndre Bakers’ recent troubles. This is wrong. While DeAndre Baker had some red flags during the draft process, it was of the effort and attention type, not criminal mischief.

You can blame Dave Gettleman for poor trades, poor record, and overall miss management of the New York Giants, but not this.

Gettleman knows he has to get his batting average up. He knows he’s on the hot seat.

“He does know that the batting average has got to increase going forward,” Mara said. “We need to win more games, and Dave knows that. I’m not going to quantify the number of wins I need to see. But we need to be able to put a better product on the field. We should be better next year.”
