Rookie CB Andru Phillips Amazed by Simmons’ Versatility

During Giants training camp, Isaiah Simmons has been making waves with his versatility. Known primarily for his size and athleticism, Simmons is now showcasing his skills in a new role as a nickel cornerback.

Despite initial doubts from observers like rookie cornerback Andru Phillips, Simmons has demonstrated his ability to cover speedy receivers like Wan’Dale Robinson. His impressive performances are proving that he’s not just a physical marvel but also a versatile asset in the Giants’ defensive scheme.

“In the spring, I was looking at him and thinking, ‘How is he going to do this?’ He’s just so big, but you see him out there covering guys like [wide receiver] Wan’Dale Robinson and whatnot. It’s surprising. But he’s a freak of nature, and he’s blessed for the talents that he’s got.”
