Left Tackle Eugene Monroe Retires.

Free agent Left Tackle Eugene Monroe has decided to hang up his cleats rather than pursue a new deal and home. Giants fans held out hope, as they wished Monroe would agree to play right tackle for the G-Men.

Last month Monroe told Sirius XM NFL Radio he was in no rush to sign a deal.

“I’m weighing my options right now. I don’t feel like I have to jump on one of the first opportunities that come up, I’m just trying to be patient, wait on the right opportunity and also decide what’s going to be the best move for my family.”

This past Wednesday Monroe penned his announcement in a Players Tribune Article.

It’s time I put my health and my family first. It’s time for me to retire.

The Giants still have time to address their right tackle position as we gear towards training camp.
