Raheem Layne Joins Giants after successful Work Out adding safety depth.

The Giants are signing safety Raheem Layne after a workout today. Layne, who spent the last two seasons with the Chargers, is recovering from an ACL tear last October. With several safeties injured, the Giants needed depth. Jason Pinnock, Dane Belton, Tyler Nubin, and Alex Johnson are the only healthy options, while Gervarrius Owens, Elijah Riley, and Jalen Mills remain sidelined.

Additionally, the Giants also worked out former Penn State safety Jonathan Sutherland, who previously played for the Seahawks. It’s unclear if an offer was made.
