The decision in the “NFL Sunday Ticket” anti-trust case was rendered Thursday and the league took a pummeling. A group of “plaintiffs” who purchased the package won a judgment of $4.7 billion from the Los Angeles, CA, jury, while “bar owners” were awarded $96 million.

A Los Angeles jury on Thursday agreed with fans who claimed they overpaid for NFL Sunday Ticket, according to NFL. The decision, which was reached after less than a full day of deliberations, could force the league to change its broadcast model that’s made it the most popular sports league in the country.

Giants issue statement in response to Brian Flores.

The New York Giants issue a lengthy, detailed statement addressing the Brian Flores discrimination claims and lawsuit.

Brian Flores has raised serious issues in the filing of his complaint. The specific claims against the Giants and Mr. Flores’ allegations about the legitimacy of his candidacy for our head coach position are disturbing and simply false.

After we interviewed six exceptional and diverse candidates, the decision on who we would hire as head coach was made on the evening of January 28, one day after Mr. Flores spent an entire day in our offices going through his second interview for the position, meeting with ownership and other staff members, and receiving a tour of our facility. (See the itinerary below). There is additional concrete and objective evidence to substantiate we did not make our decision until the evening of the 28th.

The allegation that the Giants’ decision had been made prior to Friday evening, January 28, is false. And to base that allegation on a text exchange with Bill Belichick in which he ultimately states that he “thinks” Brian Daboll would get the job is irresponsible. The text exchange occurred the day before Coach Daboll’s in-person interview even took place. Giants’ ownership would never hire a head coach based only on a 20-minute zoom interview, which is all that Mr. Daboll had at that point.

In addition, Mr. Belichick does not speak for and has no affiliation with the Giants. Mr. Belichick’s text exchange provides no insight into what actually transpired during our head coaching search.

It has been well documented how much research and due diligence we did on Mr. Flores as it related to his candidacy. John Mara called Mr. Flores two days after he was dismissed in Miami. Mr. Mara expressed to Mr. Flores in that January 12 call that once we had our new general manager in place, we would begin the process of hiring our head coach and we wanted to meet with Mr. Flores because we considered him a serious candidate for the position. Mr. Mara and Mr. Flores then had their first formal conversation in a 25-30 minute zoom call on January 18 (at Mr. Flores’ request) to further discuss his candidacy.

In between those initial conversations and Mr. Flores’ in-person interview on January 27, there were several other communications between Mr. Flores and members of our organization. This included a dinner with our newly hired general manager, Joe Schoen, the night before Mr. Flores’s in-person interview. The consensus from within the Giants organization after this dinner remained that Mr. Flores was an outstanding candidate, and we looked forward to sitting down with him in person the next day.

Our hiring process and, most certainly, our consideration of Mr. Flores was serious and genuine. We are disappointed to learn that Mr. Flores was under the mistaken impression the job had already been awarded.

In his CBS interview yesterday, Mr. Flores was asked if “clubs have the right to hire the person they think is the best qualified for the job or the person they feel is right for them?” Mr. Flores responded “They do. That’s very reasonable to me . . .”. That is exactly what we did.

We hired Brian Daboll as our head coach at the conclusion of an open and thorough interview process. No decision was made, and no job offer was extended, until the evening of January 28, a full day after Mr. Flores’ in-person interview and day-long visit to the Giants.
New York Giants Press Release.

It can be challenging to work out what to do with yourself when the referee whistles for halftime. Whether you are elated with the scoreline, slightly concerned or you’ve given up all hope, it can often feel like an eternity between halves, and you need to find a few ways to fill the time. Most fans will have their own routines to fill the time, but if you find yourself twiddling your thumbs or if you are looking for a new way to occupy yourself during the break, then read on for a few suggestions for what to do at half-time.

• Watch The Half-Time Show

The most obvious (and easiest) thing to do is to stay sitting on the couch and watch the halftime show. You may disagree with everything that the pundits have to say, but it can be interesting to hear different opinions as well as view the stats from the game and highlights. If your team is down, however, you may want to find another way to occupy yourself!

• Fix Yourself A Snack

Half-time is the perfect time to fix yourself a snack to enjoy during the rest of the game. What’s more, there are many tantalizing snack recipes from places like Delish to consider which are perfect for watching football with a few cold ones.

• Go For A Walk

The healthy option is to take a short stroll, and this is a good idea if you have been sitting down for a lengthy period of time. It does not have to be far as you won’t want to miss a minute of the action, but even a short stroll around the block can be good for your health as stated by Mayo Clinic and allow you to focus on something else for a short while.

• Place A Few Bets

Placing a few bets on the action through a betting website like Unibet is an excellent way to pass the time while also mak-ing the game a little bit more interesting for the second half or you could look to place bets on other games or even sports.

• Browse Social Media

Whether you are a social media lover or hater, there’s no denying that it is a fantastic resource for sports, particularly the NFL! See what your friends, experts, and even current players are saying about the action and get involved with the debate. It can be good fun and make you think about the game differently.

• Make Your Own Analysis

Following on from this, it can be good fun to create your own analysis for the game so far and write it down. Doing so will help you to think on a deeper level about the action and consider changes that need to happen in the second half. You can check out this article from SB Nation for tips. Who knows, you may even discover that you have a skill for this and you could create your own football analysis website/channel!

The above suggestions are just a few ideas for ways in which you can fill time during half-time during a football game. It can be a tricky period no matter what the score is and you will want to find a way to kill time so that the second half comes round quickly.

The post Ways To Occupy Yourself During Halftime first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

What’s an NFL fan to do when there’s no football to watch? With the first game of the season being heldin the first week of September, and the Super Bowl taking place in February the following year, that’s rathera lot of months to fill with something interesting. There’s only so many reruns of the last season’sgames you can watch without getting bored, so here are some suggestions for what you can do to keep yourself entertained.

Keep Up to Date with Contract Negotiations

There might be no games to watch, butthere’s a lot of activity going on behind the scenes. For one, there are contracts that needto be negotiated before the start of training camp. You don’t want to be the only fan who doesn’t know who’s playing in your favourite team next season.

Keep Abreast of Injury Updates

The NFL is not the softest of sports to play, andevery year there are countless injured players. Thiscreates an awful lot of suspense before training camp starts while you wait to see who has recovered from their injuries. For some players, the injuries they suffer can mean the end of their playing days while others justseem to brush themselves off and get back on it almost immediately. Keep your eye on the NFL news feeds so you can check what’s happening.

Spend Time Playing Casino Games Online

A great way to keep your mind off the football for the next seven months is to find another outlet for your sporting enthusiasm. www.schmittscasino.com is an online casino where you can play exciting casino games all year round. Give yourself a break from the excitement ofbeing an NFL fan and enjoy a fewgamesof blackjack, poker, roulette, or craps.

Find a New Sport to Watch

Seven months is a long time towaitfor the season to start again, but it’s not too bad if you’ve got another sport to watch. Just because there’s no football doesn’t mean it’s all doom and gloom. After all, there’s basketball to watch, ice hockey, Major League baseball, and the Masters Golf Tournament.

Coach a Sports Team

If you’ve got time to spare, why not get involved in coaching of a sports teams and enjoy sharing your sporting knowledge with others? You’ll also be getting a goodamount of exercise, so you’ll be fit and well when it’s time to cheer on your favourite NFL team.

Get Ready for the Next Season

The training camps open from May until July, and this is the time when you can sort out the gear you want to wear for the next season. You don’t want to feel left out whenyou’re wearing a jersey that’s two years out of date.

Teams need fans who are willing to be there for them through thick and thin and not just once in a while. Become a more dedicated fan with these tips and not someone who switches who they’re cheering for on a whim.

Football is a great sport to follow and brushing up on your knowledge and becoming more involved will likely be a very rewarding experience for you. The transformation isn’t going to happen overnight, so it’s better to get started sooner rather than later. Relax and have fun discovering and enjoying a new hobby you can get behind and feel passionate about each day.

Understand the Game

You’ll be able to become a more dedicated football fan when you understand the basics of the game. Take time to learn the rules and how the sport is played because this will help you better appreciate what the players are doing out on the field. Brush up on your skills so that you turn into the expert and are able to explain the gist of the game to another person with ease.

Never Miss A Game

You’re going to mold yourself into a more dedicated football fan when you’re good about never missing a game. Go online to Ticket sales and claim your seats to the upcoming games well in advance so you can clear your schedule. Be prepared to cheer on your favorite players and beloved team so that you can help them win more games. You’ll increase your fan status when you’re committed to attending all of the games both rain and shine.

Follow Your Favorite Players on Social Media

Social media is the perfect medium for you to get to know your desired team and players better. Review recent updates and receive the inside scoop on what’s happening within the organization by following popular accounts online. It’s a fun way to get a sneak peek into the player’s lives and what they’re up to on and off the field. The best part is that you can access the information from your computer or phone whenever you want.

Hang Around People Who Love the Sport

You can’t hang around people who have no desire to learn more about football and expect to morph yourself into a more dedicated fan. Spend time with individuals who feel passionate about the sport and will want to watch games with you and talk football in their free time. Being a committed sports fan is a great way to meet people and grow your social circle. This way you’ll always have someone to cheer on your team and engage in conversation with about heated or controversial topics related to recent games.

Conclusion

Use this guide to help you develop into one of the most dedicated football fans out there. Enjoy the experience and how much fun it is to become a part of a larger community. You’ll finally feel like you belong in the world of football after working these tips into your daily life.

The post Your Guide To Being A More Dedicated Football Fan first appeared on Bleedbigblue.com.

Update To NFL Postseason Ticket Invoice Policy

Below is updated postseason ticket invoice policy that was emailed out to season ticket holders on Friday. More information could be found on Giants.com

All 32 NFL teams are now required by new NFL policies to offer their Season Ticket Holders the opportunity, prior to the first regular season game, to reserve tickets for any postseason game they may host in that season.

As a PSL and Season Ticket Holder, your seats for the playoffs are already reserved through your PSL Agreement. As part of these new policies, we will offer PSL Holders preferred pricing. For any home Wild Card playoff game, PSL Holders will be charged no more for each of their seats than the average ticket price of that seat for the 2015 season.

At this time, there is nothing you need to do to opt-in to receive the exclusive Wild Card playoff game pricing. As in prior years, we will send more playoff information as the season progresses, including final pricing for any potential Wild Card, Divisional and/or Championship Game. The Giants will offer PSL Holders the same payment options as in prior years. This includes the Pay-When-We’re-In option where Season Ticket Holders enroll their credit card for payment but are not charged until within 24-48 hours of when it is determined that the Giants will host a home playoff game.

Thank you and please contact the New York Giants Ticket Office at (201) 935-8222 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
