Fights, Competitiveness, and Standout Performances.
Joint practice with the Detroit Lions was cut short due to players on both sides getting into fights, including rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. On a positive note, Nabers is always open—always.
During the two joint practices with the Lions, Malik Nabers was targeted 18 times in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. He caught all but one pass, almost making an impressive one-handed catch on the only miss with Daniel Jones.
Despite the physical altercations, the joint practices provided valuable insights into the team’s dynamics and performance under pressure. The Lions and Giants both brought intensity, highlighting the competitiveness of these sessions.
Coaches and players from both sides acknowledged the importance of maintaining composure while still playing with passion and determination.
The focus was not just on the scuffles but also on the strong performances on the field. Malik Nabers, in particular, continued to prove why he’s considered a rising star. His ability to create separation and make tough catches drew praise from teammates and coaches alike.
The experience gained from these practices will be crucial as the team gears up for the regular season, with Nabers poised to make a significant impact.
