Giants lose to Jets 23-20 in OT.

Another 4th quarter lead squandered as the Giants lose to Jets 23-20 in OT. Late miscues prevented the Giants from the needed win. Jets receiver Brandon Marshall was able to grab a late touchdown to tie the game at 20-20, sending the G-Men into overtime. The Jets won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball first eventually hitting the go ahead field goal. The Giants were also able to make a small drive of their own to set up Kicker Josh Brown with a 48 yard field goal to tie the game. Brown had 29 straight field goal connections prior to this miss.

“Yeah, just a bad hit. I just have to keep my head down, look through the ball and there’s nothing else I can do about it,” Brown said. “I have to keep striking the same ball. I had made everything; kicking well. I just have to hit that ball like I do every other one. I just didn’t get through it like I needed to. It trailed left and stayed just left of the upright.”

The Giants stand at 5-7 and are falling fast. Luckily enough the NFC East has such poor play that anything is possible, but week by week it is getting harder to dig out of a hole they dug.

Well… On to Miami.
