Giants Starters to Sit Out Preseason Finale Against The New York Jets

Get Ready for Game Day! Giants vs. Jets in the preseason finale kicks off at 7:30 PM at MetLife Stadium!

As per Jordan Raanan, most of the New York Giants starters will not play in today’s preseason finale against the Jets. According to Raanan’s sources, the coaching staff has decided to rest the majority of the first-string players in preparation for Week 1.

The Giants got their work in this week with a joint practice against the Jets. It was their second joint practices of the summer in addition to the starters playing in last weekā€™s preseason game vs. Texans.

DeVito to Take the Lead in the Final Preseason Matchup

With the starters sitting out, the focus shifts to the rest of the roster. We speculated earlier that Tommy DeVito would take most of the snaps, with Drew Lock potentially serving as an emergency backup. This preseason finale offers a crucial opportunity for the backup players to make their case for a spot on the final 53-man roster.

Roster Spots Up for Grabs

Jordan Raanan’s report underscores the importance of tonightā€™s game for the players on the bubble. With the regular season just around the corner, this is the last chance for many to prove they belong on the roster. The coaching staff will be closely watching the back end of the roster to see who steps up and earns their place on the team.

By resting the starters, the Giants are prioritizing their health and readiness for the regular season kickoff. It also allows the coaching staff to evaluate the depth and talent they have as they prepare to finalize their roster.
