Tom Coughlin will be at the NFL Combine.

Sounds dandy, but it’s not what you think. The former Giants Head Coach will attend as a member of the NFL’s Madden Committee. Daily News Raph Vacchiano reports that John Mara’s job offering still remains open.

Less than two months after he lost his job with the Giants, Tom Coughlin is back to work.
The 69-year-old former head coach was on his way to the NFL’s annual scouting combine in Indianapolis, where he’ll spend the next several days working with the NFL’s “Madden Committee” — the coaches’ subcommittee of the competition committee, which is chaired by former NFL coach John Madden. He was travelling on the same flight as current Giants coach Ben McAdoo on Wednesday, but he is not working for the Giants — at least not yet.

Coughlin still has an offer on the table from his former bosses to remain with the team as some sort of consultant. Giants co-owner John Mara had said at the Super Bowl that he hoped to discuss that job with Coughlin in the coming weeks, though that discussion has apparently not taken place yet.

Let’s hope they get to talking, and add Tom Coughlins back to the front office.
