Giants QB Daniel Jones Looks to Rebound in Commanders Matchup.
After a rough Week 1 loss, Daniel Jones faces heavy criticism. Last week’s opener was probably one of his worst performances as a professional. However, history shows he performs well against the Washington Commanders.
Jones Dominates Washington.
In seven career starts against Washington, Jones boasts a 5-1-1 record. He has thrown 10 of his 62 career touchdown passes against them. His impressive 10:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio highlights his dominance. In contrast, his record against all other teams is 17-36 in 53 starts.
A Get-Right Game?
With the pressure mounting after his poor performance, the Commanders could be the ideal opponent for a turnaround. Baker Mayfield dismantled Washington’s secondary in Week 1, raising hopes that Jones can follow suit. If Jones could choose any opponent right now, Washington would be at the top of his list.
Jones’ Confidence.
Despite the criticism, Jones remains confident. He stated, “I can’t wait to play well and win the game.” After hearing comments like Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard’s, “We kind of started to feel a little bit bad for him,” Jones is eager to bounce back and silence his critics.
All eyes are on Jones in this divisional showdown. Fans hope he continues his strong play against Washington and moves past what was arguably one of the toughest games of his career. I think it’s rare for a sixth-year veteran to transform into a franchise quarterback, but I hope I’m proven wrong.
