New York Giants Bolster Safety Depth with Raheem Layne and Jonathan Sutherland.
The New York Giants continue to address their safety depth. After successfully working out and signing Raheem Layne, the team has now added Jonathan Sutherland to their roster. Sutherland, a former Penn State safety who was previously with the Seahawks, is joining the Giants after his agent, Marty Magid, confirmed the signing on Instagram.
Currently, Jason Pinnock, Dane Belton, Tyler Nubin, and Alex Johnson are the only healthy safeties, while Gervarrius Owens, Elijah Riley, and Jalen Mills remain sidelined.
The addition of Sutherland brings further depth to the Giants’ secondary, which has been dealing with a string of injuries throughout the offseason.
