Time to Listen If the Phone Is Ringing.
If other NFL teams are calling about Kayvon Thibodeaux, the New York Giants should absolutely be picking up the phone. According to Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports, Thibodeaux has been named a potential trade candidate—and not just for a mid-round flyer. Vacchiano says the Giants could land “multiple premium draft picks” in return.
That phrase jumped out at me. What does “multiple premium draft picks” even look like? Are we talking about a first-round pick and a second-rounder? Or maybe multiple Day 2 selections? Either way, the return could give the Giants real draft capital to reshape the roster. It’s a price tag worth exploring.
Thibodeaux Hasn’t Lived Up to the Hype.
I’ve said this before, and I still believe it: Thibodeaux has been an underwhelming pick. Yes, he’s flashed big-play potential, but too often those flashes come against struggling teams or backup linemen. He disappears against top-tier opponents. For a player drafted to be a game-changer, that’s just not good enough.
The idea of pairing someone like Abdul Carter—should the Giants draft him—with Thibodeaux once excited me. But now, I’m wondering if Carter wouldn’t benefit more from a fresh defensive identity without Thibodeaux in the mix.
What’s Best for the Franchise?
This front office has a lot riding on the next few drafts. If Thibodeaux’s name carries value, then it’s smart business to see what that value could bring back. A bold trade could give the Giants much-needed capital to fix other holes on the roster—while also signaling a new direction.
Bottom line: if offers are real, the Giants better be listening.

Time to move on from Tibs. It’s been a couple of years now with no real overwhelming improvement or impact. We need more out of him and it was brought up early last year, but the results have been the same. I would keep the ears open as well if someone is willing to give us something good for him.
