First Round of Roster Cuts Announced
The New York Giants have started trimming down their roster as the regular season approaches. Head Coach Brian Daboll announced the first wave of cuts, releasing ten players. This is a necessary step as the team works to get down to the 53-man roster limit.
No Surprises in the First Wave of cuts.
There were no surprises in this first round of cuts. The players released include:
- RB Joshua Kelley
- RB Lorenzo Lingard
- WR John Jiles
- WR Ayir Asante
- OL Marcus McKethan
- DL Kyler Baugh
- LB Trey Kiser
- CB Breon Borders
- CB Christian Holmes
- S Clayton Isbell
Each of these players gave their best effort, but the competition is fierce, and only the best will make the final roster. While these players are no longer with the team, they each played a role in making training camp competitive and challenging.
More Cuts Are Coming
This first round of cuts is just the beginning. The Giants will need to make more tough decisions in the coming days as they work toward finalizing their roster. Fans should expect additional waves of cuts as the team narrows down the roster to prepare for the upcoming season.
In the end, only the most prepared and skilled players will earn a spot on the Giants’ final roster. Stay tuned for more updates as the Giants continue to shape their team for the 2024 season.
