Giants To Face Vikings in Wild Card Matchup

The New York Giants knew they were going to the playoffs, but were waiting to find out who their next opponent would be, and it looks like it’s going to be a rematch.

The Giants, who are the sixth seed in playoffs with a record of 9-7-1, will be playing against the third seed, Minnesota Vikings (13-4) at U.S. Bank Stadium on the Super Wild Card Weekend. The game is scheduled to Kickoff at 4:30 PM ET on Sunday, January 15th.

According to the New York Giants Press Release “The Giants will now make a return trip to Minneapolis this winter to play the Vikings, who clinched their first NFC North title since 2017. They have met three times in the postseason with the Giants winning in the 1993 Wild Card Round and, of course, the 41-point shutout in the 2000 NFC Championship Game. They met just two weeks ago at U.S. Bank Stadium, where Greg Joseph made a 61-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Giants 27-24.”

New York (9-7-1) are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016 when they lost 38-13 to the Green Bay Packers in a Wild Card game. Minnesota (13-4) won the NFC North and made the postseason for the first time since the 2019 season when they defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-20
