Round 1

1986 Giants vs. 2000 Giants

If you think Kerri Collins shit himself when he saw Ray Lewis and company that night in Tampa, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Collins was God awful all night long, completing 12-31 passes for 159 yards, 0 TD’s, 4 picks and one fumble. He was sacked 7 times.

The ’86 team was not messing around and wanted to send a message as the one seed. The ’86 team led 14-0 before Simms and Co. saw the field, as a Gary Reasons returned interception and a Carl Banks sack and forced fumble led to a 18 yard return for a TD by Leonard Marshall.

Armstead, Sehorn and Strahan did their best to keep the game close and the 2000 team, despite their slow start, trailed only 17-7 at halftime.

The ’86 team took the field after halftime and exploded for 21 3rd quarter points to put this one away.

Simms hit Bavaro on a gorgeous 33 yard post play to get the drive going and Joe Morris scampered in from 7 yards out to open the 3rd. Another Collins INT, this time by Terry Kinard, set the ‘86ers up deep in the opposing teams territory, and Simms to Zeke Mowatt pretty much stuck a fork in the 2000 team.
Final Score 1986 Giants 41 – 2000 Giants 10
