A New Arm in the Quarterback Room
The New York Giants have agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Jameis Winston, according to multiple reports. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft brings a wealth of experience to the Giants’ quarterback room.
Winston has appeared in 105 games, making 87 starts during his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2015–2019), New Orleans Saints (2020–2023), and most recently, the Cleveland Browns in 2024. Over his career, he has completed 61.2% of his passes—1,944 completions on 3,178 attempts—for 24,225 yards, 154 touchdowns, and 111 interceptions. He’s also added over 1,000 rushing yards and 12 rushing scores.
Record-Breaking Career Highlights.
During his five seasons in Tampa Bay, Winston etched his name in the franchise record books. He remains the Buccaneers’ all-time leader in passing yards, touchdowns, completions, and attempts.
In 2019, he became just the eighth player in NFL history to throw for 5,000 yards in a single season. That year, he also became the first quarterback ever to pass for 450+ yards in back-to-back games.
What He Brings to the Giants.
In 2024, Winston suited up for 12 games with the Browns, starting seven. He averaged 291 yards per game and tossed 13 touchdowns. His veteran presence, arm strength, and experience could be crucial for a Giants team looking to strengthen its depth behind center.
A Proven Leader from the Start.
Before entering the NFL, Winston had a legendary college career at Florida State. He went 27-1 as a starter, won the Heisman Trophy as a freshman, and led the Seminoles to the 2014 BCS National Championship.
